In her classroom, she has established clear expectations and consistent routines so students know what is expected of them and can focus on learning. Something that she focuses on because it is important to her is; fostering an inclusive classroom where every child has opportunities to participate, celebrate their successes, and learn from their mistakes.
She praises her students to encourage appropriate behaviors. She also celebrates effort and growth, rather than perfection. In her class, she uses engaging, hands-on learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of her students. She hopes to encourage collaboration and problem-solving among the students.

Jamie is not only a Life Changer for those in her classroom but also for those in close proximity to her. I work with her and see daily things I want to do better in my own life and classroom because of her example and enthusiasm. She perfectly embodies the work-life balance of pouring into her students and also having enough purposeful quality time with her family. Some say that there are only six degrees of separation connecting everyone on Earth. But Jamie shatters that. We’ve known Jamie for 10 years now. We met her when she was a teacher’s assistant when Alex was three years old. He was her favorite teaching assistant in the developmentally delayed classroom. She was such a blessing for all of us. She has been part of Alex’s educational journey ever since!
She connects not only with her students in her classroom but with the family members. She is part of our family now and we know she is continuing to impact other students and families the same way.

She has a gift for forming an instant bond with every child, anticipates their needs and nurtures their gifts. She also happens to meet our every expectation as a daughter-in-law and I see her providing the same nurturing spirit with her students as she does with our grandchildren. Ms. Jamie has been such a bright light in our lives. Her servants heart and love for children and people show through everything she does. We have had the privilege of having her in our lives as a best friend and caregiver for our children for over a decade and we are better for it. She has loved our children from birth and continues to pour into them, the children she teaches, her colleagues, her church, and her very own family. Supports like teaching our children, caring for them, and giving them the support they need just as she would her own. We are so blessed to know you and to be taught by you, Jamie!
