Chad Hendricks was nominated by a colleague who wishes to remain anonymous.

Mr. Hendricks has been a physical education teacher for 17 years. He demonstrates strong leadership skills and is a responsible, organized, and resourceful educator who has mentored many new assistant coaches over the years. He is also the wellness contact for staff, and is always providing them with updates and activities.

In a short time, Mr. Hendricks has provided an atmosphere where learning becomes fun and engaging. Parents enjoy volunteering for him because they know how much the students enjoy it. He addresses health and nutrition when coordinating his PE units and built a cross country running club to allow students to run before school. Mr. Hendricks is a huge advocate for students with special needs, and he participates in a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Foundation every year. He is also an advocate for Jump Rope for Heart as well. He enjoys the traditions of the school's sprit days, and can be found wearing whatever crazy outfit the student council has requested.

"Through his actions, he is teaching empathy and kindness that is not a Florida standard, but a civil duty that he takes very seriously," the nominator said.

Chad is my Son-in-Law and my friend. There are so many reasons for me to admire him. I have watched him be a doting and supportive husband, tirelessly patient and loving father, dutiful son and steadfast brother. He is constantly and consistently involved in supporting, planning, organizing and participating in various charities and/or school functions and always exceeds expectations while doing it. He seems to have been ever in touch with every friend he has ever had and remarkably every friend seems to be a close one who will come out and support anything Chad has devoted his passions to. His ongoing sacrifices of time and energy appear to be as endless as is his joy of life. I have watched him take pride in his present and past students' accomplishments because he truly cares that the thrive and succeed in their acedemic, sports and personal endeavors.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching Chad grow into this amazing man. He has always been a positive inspiring person. He has been a wonderful role model for all the children he as taught. His excitement and constant enthusiasm for his job is obvious each day. He treats each child with respect and concern for their wellbeing. As an educator for 35 years I know that we can make a real difference in a path a child may take in his walk in life. Chad has changed many life paths by his kindness and positive attitude. What a beautiful life story is being told by watching him as an educator, father, brother and son. In the years to come there will be many students who will be coming back to see coach and how he is doing as the years go by. There will be many stories told about how he helped them with becoming the person that they are today.

He inspires his friends and students to strive to do better and be a positive voice in the community. I could not think of a better person to be a recipient of this award.

Without question as a son treats his parents that's how he will respect the world around him. You are present with your children. Making memories for them that will be with them forever. You adore your beautiful wife and you stand beside her not in front of her. Then let us not forget all of the children at school God has entrusted in your care daily. This is a relationship not just a job. I love following your life and family on facebook. You truly are inspiring and I'm glad that because of our children we have a common ground and we are friends.
