Krystal Lamb was nominated by her colleague, Tim Regula.

Ms. Lamb is an incredible educator, mentor, advisor, coach and leader in her community. Over the past 11 years, she has been a part of so many of the activities and initiatives that have made Park Vista High School a place where students and staff want to be.

Ms. Lamb is a social studies teacher who has taken it upon herself to delve into a new realm at Park Vista by offering a Holocaust Studies course for students. Being the forward-thinking person she is, Ms. Lamb sought out professional development opportunities and wrote grant proposals in order to provide her students with the most authentic and eye-opening experience possible.

Ms. Lamb has provided guidance to new teachers, veteran teachers and aspiring teachers. She is currently the mentor for all new teachers at Park Vista, assisting them with everything from lesson planning to classroom management. She has taken on student teachers, providing them with an authentic experience that wouldn’t be possible from simply reading a textbook. Ms. Lamb also assists veteran teachers with new educational technology and ideas in order to provide opportunities for students to have more of a voice in the classroom.

She has been the advisor for Park Vista’s Student Government for the past three years. During that time, she has put in countless hours ensuring that school spirit is alive, teachers are thanked for their service, pep rallies go off without a hitch, and students are mentored in leadership and service.

Ms. Lamb coaches softball and soccer at Park Vista, two sports she has enjoyed being part of since she began her teaching career 11 years ago. Coaching allows her to provide support and guidance to students in yet another realm, on the field. She builds character, strong work ethic and leadership qualities in her players.

Recently, she was selected to be part of the Technology Trailblazers Program. She is a Google Certified Educator and was awarded a class set of laptops, which she uses to differentiate instruction, give students a voice and provide them with 21st century skills.

"As you can see, Ms. Lamb has both a direct and indirect impact on a large number of students, staff and community members," Regula said. "Her students tell her that she does so much behind the scenes for the school and always keeps them motivated and positive. Whether it be in the classroom, on the field, or in the community, we can always count on Ms. Lamb to be there, changing lives."

Ms.Lamb has pushed me to become a better student and leader. She sets a great example to her students of how you should act in life. She makes me want to push harder in life and get the best results possible. She gives up so much of her free time to go to events or meetings with student government. She makes sure her students are the best possible self they can be.

I honestly couldn’t have more respect for this woman and all that she does for her students. Her classroom is a sanctuary amidst the craziness of high school, which is why you can find students in there at all times of the day, including lunch and mornings. She has exposed me to so many amazing opportunities and made my high school experience infinitely better.

You know when people tell stories about that one teacher that they had growing up that changes their life? Well Ms.Lamb is that teacher for me.. she’s one of the reasons I’m a teacher today! Ms. lamb always made people feel welcome by having her classroom always open for anyone. She was always there to listen to me vent and helped me with personal things. I hope to one day be a inspirational teacher just like Ms.Lamb

Ms. Lamb I can honestly say I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I never had you as a teacher/SGA advisor. You showed me how to lead others as well as the assistance and courage to chase my dreams. Showing me that not only should I help my community, but also show others that helping their community brings passion and purpose to ones life. Because of everything you’ve done to help me in life with teaching me how to prioritize things to going out of your way to write me recommendation letters to different schools and scholarships. I am now in the process to creating my own non-profit, finally contracted in my Marine Officer Program, and joined my colleges cross country team, all while working two jobs. Ms. Lamb completely changed my view on my high school. She showed me ways I could benefit myself and the school through Student Government. Ms. Lamb will always help someone who is down. She is one of the few teachers that has changed my out look on life and how the world works.

Ms. Lamb is one of the most influential woman in my life. As a freshman in high school I joined student government and over the four years she pushed me to be the best leader, student, and person I could be. Even as a sophomore in college at the Florida State University, Ms. Lamb still gives me guidance with my studies, advice to keep going, and without her support and recommendations I would not have made it into some of the great organizations I am in today. 6 years later, I still know that no matter what, Ms. Lamb will always be there for me and one of my number one supporters. Mrs. Lamb has changed my life in a number of ways. I would not be the person I am today without having her as a Holocaust Studies teacher and SGA advisor. I am a Junior this year and have had Mrs. Lamb as a Student Government Advisor since my freshman year. Mrs. Lamb is always there for all of her students if we need help with something and always knows the perfect solution to all of our problems. In SGA we are like a big family and Mrs.Lamb is our mama bear, always watching over us. Some SGA students are in her classroom in the mornings, doing homework, studying or planning events, and we always see so many of Mrs. Lambs students coming to her and asking for help or to sign up for her latest volunteer event for Holocaust Studies. She is truely a life changer and I speak for many of us when I say that we would definitely not be the confident, strong, hardworking people we are today without the guidance from Mrs. Lamb.

When I hear the name Ms. Lamb, the word inspired comes to mind. Ms. Lamb is always trying to make the most of anything she does. I have had the privilege of being a history student, holocaust/sociology student, and even apart of Student Government all ran by Ms. Lamb. Since sophomore year Ms. Lamb has never gone a day without motivating me to be my best. She is very selfless in the way that she will not ever take credit for all of the hard earned work she has done. Truly an amazing women who will always get the job done and put 110% in every time. To the most selfless and generous person i have ever met. To the person who has always believed in me when i didn’t believe in myself. Thank you. Thank you for being my harshest critic, but also my biggest supporter. Thank you for always being there academically and personally when i needed wisdom. Ms. Lamb is simply a legend. Coming in freshman year i was shy and insecure. Becoming a member of Student Government has made me proud and confident. I owe that all to Lamb. For making me speak up when i didn’t want too, for letting me know that my opinion is as important as the next guys. A life changer is someone who gives their all to making an impact on others lives.
