Abdulkarim Bitti was nominated by his colleague, Christine Glasper.

Mr. Bitti has been teaching since the 80's. He spent a good chunk of his time in Detroit Public Schools. He is now teaching at an alternative high school with an incredible number of refugees and immigrants from Middle Eastern countries. To this day, he has not lost his passion to teach and support the entire student.

"Last year, he came to me wanting to bump a students grade from a B+ to an A- because his grade was the only one keeping the student from all A's that semester," said Glasper. "His heart is still as full as a brand new teacher, though wiser. He meets his students where they are at and teaches them beyond the curriculum. He grows their understanding and, in some cases, love for science. He is a LifeChanger!
