Joanne Anderson was nominated by a parent of a student, Katie Bennett.

"I would like to nominate Mrs. Joanne Anderson for the LifeChanger of the Year award," said Bennett. "Mrs. Anderson has changed the trajectory of both of my daughters' lives for the better. She has an unwavering belief in every single student. My daughter Charlotte missed most of her year in Kindergarten, a critical, fundamental year for learning. In first grade, as she began reading, she was able to begin catching up but was still behind. To ensure Charlotte was on and above grade level, Mrs. Anderson stayed after school working with Charlotte for weeks. She never gave up on Charlotte, and to this day, Charlotte is on and above grade level. She changed her life."

Mrs. Anderson lives her faith daily and is an example to others in everything she does. She is kind, compassionate, and straightforward. Mrs. Anderson never hesitates to lend a hand or cheer up a student. She has very high expectations, and students rise to meet them each year because she believes in them.

"She has changed many lives and my two daughters, Charlotte and Reagan, without any doubt," said Bennett. "No one on earth deserves this award more than Mrs. Anderson."

Mrs Anderson is an example of what it means to be a true educator. She strikes that perfect “Mary Poppins” balance of being firm but kind- because of the relationships she is able to build with her students, they want to learn and follow her where she takes them. She has truly been a life changer for our family!

Mrs. Anderson is a wonderful teacher. I know her not only as one my children's teachers, but also as a colleague. Her classroom atmosphere is positive and dynamic. From guest speakers to special programs and field trips, she utilizes her contacts in the community to create unique educational experiences for her students. As a colleague, Mrs. Anderson has spearheaded many committees and projects over the years. She has also made significant contributions to the site-based leadership team. Our faculty and staff often seek her out for valuable input. Mrs. Anderson has truly made a difference in the lives of the entire Saint Joseph Catholic School Community.
