LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Selena Tumlin was nominated by her colleague, Clay Johns.

Coach Selena Tumlin is a proven life-changing educator. She deserves this award because of her experience in and out of the classroom for the past 29 years she has been in the education system at Brantley County High School. Coach Tumlin has coached basketball, cross country, softball, and other sports. She also spent time as the athletic director for the school. Coach Tumlin has taken the BCHS Lady Herons basketball team to numerous playoff appearances during her tenure and secured multiple region championship trophies. Coach Tumlin has built a great legacy to remember her by, and her shoes have been hard to fill by other coaches.

"I had the opportunity to have Coach Tumlin as my P.E. coach in high school, in the classroom as my teacher, and now, my colleague," said Johns. "Coach Tumlin always has a positive attitude no matter what and continuously puts forth her best effort to help every student every day with whatever she can. Coach Tumlin deserves this LifeChanger award because of her huge impact on students at the high school, primary, elementary, and middle school levels during her 29-year career as an educator. She has actively been involved in trying to help move all of our sports programs forward and helping to see every child and student succeed in whatever path they follow."
