Cheryl Covington's nominator would like to remain anonymous.

Energy, enthusiasm, and patience. These are three things Ms. Covington has that only a few teachers can say they have.

"I have been in her class several times to observe students. She is unlike any other teacher I have seen each time I am there," said the nominator. "She takes time to invest in her students and get to know them. She has an optimistic personality, and you can see the children she helps respect and truly value her. She is a fantastic teacher, and every student needs someone like her. She not only teaches, but she encourages, provides, and supports students."

"When I observed how she taught ELAR, the kids were engaged in discussion, and no child was left out," said the nominator. "I can tell she loved every child in that classroom and showed through her actions how she could get them to learn through their different styles. She is a natural-born leader, both inside and outside of the classroom. I will never forget how astonishing she is, or her abilities in the classroom."
