Rebekah Wann was nominated by her colleague, Jamie Story.

"Mrs. Wann has proven to me how she makes a beneficial difference in the lives of her students and coworkers," said Story. "She is my daughter's teacher, and I've been very fortunate to have her guiding my daughter. Avery has always been academically sound. Mrs. Wann does not hold her back, but pushes her forward by giving her chapter books to read and sight words that challenge her. She has even offered support for my son who has a more difficult time, even though she is not his teacher. I'm a first year teacher who she also helps. She has given me guidance and material that benefit the students in my classroom. She has taken the time to sit down with me outside contracted hours and help me become a better educator. She forms relationships with her students that many teachers have lost sight of. She deserves to be recognized for all the good she puts into her students, friends, and coworkers. She truly is a rock star!"

I was bleesed to have Ms Wann as my student teacher and coworker. She is an amazing teacher, very hard working, passionate, kind and able to make concepts easier for the students to understand. Ms Wann cares so much for her students. She is definitely a life changer to her students and coworkers.

Ms. Wann has helped me so much. Not just with teaching but also as a friend. She is willing to help you out in any way that she can.

After having a rough Kindergarten year which resulted in him hating school, my son was placed with Miss Wann for first grade. From the very beginning, Miss Wann took the time to get to know him as a person and truly came to understand how he operates. During his first grade year, Miss Wann was his lifesaver. She was able to reach him and restore his love for learning. Throughout his elementary years, he frequently returned to Miss Wann for love and encouragement. Now as he prepares to enter middle school, his favorite teacher still is, and forever will be, Miss Rebekah Wann.

Ms. Wann was my child's 1st grade teacher. My child was speech delayed and a product of the 2020 kindergarten shutdown. He started off struggling with reading, writing, and phonics. Ms. Wann is like a magical unicorn who helped him leaps and bounds by giving us supplemental work, tutoring him after school both his 1st grade and 2nd grade year when he was no longer her student, and played an instrumental role in getting him confident to be able to read. She invest her whole self in her students and brings joy and enlightenment to her students. I am forever grateful that we were lucky enough to have our child placed in her room, without her I truly believe we would still be struggling to catch him back up on his reading.
