Music that Describes Jennifer
Jennifer Wiley was nominated by her colleague, Kimberly Fette.
Ms. Wiley's passion for education started the first day she became a teacher. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for many years and then had a passion for teaching kindergartners to write. She then became an instructional coach. Ms. Wiley started to focus on helping kindergartners in her district learn how to write. She has always been passionate about the abilities of kindergarteners. As a curriculum specialist/instructional coach, she led her district toward a strong phonics and phonemic awareness curriculum well before other districts focused on the Science of Reading practices. She is a continual learner and lives by the mantra, "if you know better, you do better." This mantra is how she lives her life. She is always making curriculum changes to further her young learners' education. All primary teachers highly respect her as the expert on education for young learners.
Ms. Wiley has been with Park Hill School District for over 22 years and previously worked as a kindergarten teacher in another district. If you ask anyone in PHSD who knows the most about primary education, they will, without a doubt, say Ms. Wiley. She is knowledgeable, passionate, innovative, and a problem solver for anything education-related.
"Jennifer truly believes our young learners can do anything. She'll do anything to help a teacher succeed in their classroom," said Fette. "I can't tell you how many teachers and students she has impacted during her years in education."
