LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Lakira Woods was nominated by Kamberly Jackson, the parent of a student.

"I first got to know Ms. Woods when my daughter attended a preschool she worked at earlier in her career," said Jackson. "Ms. Woods dropped by for an introduction during a home visit, and I loved her energy. With the support of the various programs the school offered, she provided excellent information within the school that not only helped my child, but also helped me become a better parent. Over the years, Ms. Woods taught social studies to my oldest daughter in sixth grade. Ms. Woods would take up my children and spend a lot of time with them, whether it was by taking them places or simply being there for me financially after I had recently lost my spouse in a sad accident. I am so grateful for her for all that she does, and I would like to nominate Ms. Woods as a LifeChanger. There are times when I don't have the energy to get up and go, and she has come to my home and helped me clean, do my kids' hair, and be that person for me."
