Ms. Sevcan is a wonderful teacher and colleague. She is always ready with a smile.
She is amazing! She has a great rapport with her students. She is kind, considerate, and hard working. She goes above and beyond for her students. The students appear to be happy and excited about learning. She always has these hands-on activities that keep her students engaged, happy, and excited about learning. She also provides her students with a calming and soothing environment. She always has a smile on her face.
Ms. Sev is always willing to communicate with me and let me know about her students. I have learned how to work better with her students when I enter her classroom. She is always thoughtful to include me in her class celebrations. I observe how kindly she talks to her students. If her students need to correct their behavior she speaks to them, and makes sure they understand what they did wrong. Ms. Sev really cares about her special needs students and being in her classroom has been a very positive experience for me.
As a new special education teacher your first year is difficult and overwhelming. Ms. Sev has always been there for me and my students whenever I needed advise on anything from how to best organize my class, help a struggling student, or just navigate the ins and outs of IEPs or end of the year PDPs. She even came to observe my first grade class and gave me excellent and practical feed back that I was able to implement right away.
Ms. Sev is a caring, creative, loving, and passionate teacher. She develops the most engaging activities for her students to learn and succeed. It is evident that Ms. Sev’s students feel incredibly comfortable in their classroom environment to grow both academically and socially.
Ms. Sev works tirelessly for her students and advocates for them like no other. The thought provoking and reflective conversations on how to support students better demonstrate her intelligence, maturity, and passion. She deserves all in the world!
Ms Sev, is an amazing teacher. Her passion for teaching is so phenomenal and genuine. Her style of teaching is of the highest caliber. She is so dedicated to her students. She goes the extra mile and then some for her students. She also takes the time to help out her fellow colleagues to the best of her ability. Ms. Sev doesn't see her students as disabled, she sees them as students needing a little more time and attention. She is always willing to ade and assist her colleagues whe needed. So this is why I'm nominating Ms. Sev. Thank you for all you do, Ms. Sev.
Ms Sev is a highly qualified teacher who teaches young special needs students. She is dedicated to her students and their learning. She has a very loving and patient disposition that is easily felt by any one who comes in contact with her. Her students know that she cares about them and is dedicated to their learning. Ms. Sev develops very creative lessons based on the curriculum that covers all subjects; literacy, math, social studies, science, and the arts. She has mastered the art of teaching and stands as a model for what teaching is really all about. I have great respect and admiration for her as a teacher and a person.
Having a child on the spectrum or any special condition is a constant challenge for the family, and within all doubts is the question of whether he will be able to learn? To talk? Will he be independent? Finding support and guidance in this process is invaluable and this is what I found in Liam's teacher Mrs. Sev. She is the most compassionate, loving, intelligent and kind human being that my son could have as a teacher and all the mothers in my son's classroom always comment on this. Mrs. Sev is an extraordinary teacher with a proactive team at the service of her students. For me it is a blessing to have her.

Ms Sev is an amazing teacher, she is very dedicated, caring and loving. She is simply the best teacher that I could ever ask for my son. Since my son was moved to her class I have seen a significant improvement in him in all aspects. He is so happy and enthusiastic to go to school everyday because of her. I feel so blessed that he is in her class. I will always be grateful to her for all the incredible work she does every day. She deserves this recognition and many more. We love her so much!!!! Ms. Sev is the most dedicated, loving, supportive teacher I know. She goes above and beyond for her students. She sets goals for her students and rather than push them she guides them to not only meet but supersede them! She is amazing!

From the moment back in early of 2021 in kindergarden when my Step son Walter Ebong stepped unto Mrs. Sev class I saw the improvement in him not only acadmically but emotionally as well. It was like his whole attitude about school changed he started to become excited becoming eager to go to school each day. I owe all to Mrs. Sev from day one up into the end of 1st grade the relationship between my son and her was more than a teacher a student relationship it became more of a mother and son bond. She showered Walter with so much love and care that even at home Mrs. Sev was all he could talk about. I couldnt ask for a better teacher than Mrs. Sev. Abedin to have given Walter such an amazing loving start to elementary!! We love you Mrs. Sev.!!!

I was blessed 4 years ago when I was hired and placed in Ms. Abedin's classroom as a teacher assistant. I have witnessed what a great and amazing teacher she is. Her love and passion is transmitted to each student from the first day of school until the last day of school and beyond. Her classroom is structured so well that the students grow not only academically but also in simple life skills and behaviour skills that benefit the students greatly. In addition, Ms. Abedin connects with each parent in order to work together for their children. It is amazing to see how previous students and parents still keep in contact with her. Without a doubt, Ms.Abedin has touched the lives of every student and families that have been in her classroom.

I first knew her when she began teaching my son in the kindergarten. Through the years I still see the positive influence Ms. Abedin had in my son. In addition to being an excellent teacher, thanks to her academic strengths, Ms. Abedin is a generous human being in whom people may find, timely, kindness (??), a smile, help, companionship, empathy, solidarity, and advise in difficult times. I see her as an example for me and anyone who aspire to be a citizen whose interventions benefit individuals and their community without expecting any personal compensation. My son and I would feel very happy seeing Ms. Abedin receiving this encouraging award, acknowledging her valuable contributions.
Ms. Sev is a life changer indeed! Me and my family appreciate everything she did for my son while teaching him. Even till now she’s still helping him because thanks to her, my son was able to be an in environment that most suits his needs. We will be forever thankful for her sinceré love and caring for my son and that last great advice regarding his education. I wish they’d be more teachers like her nowadays. Sev Abedin is a life changer. She touches the heart of her students and their families. She is dedicated and committed to make a difference in their lives. She teaches with love and kindness. Sev for sure deserves to be the life changer of the year.
I wish we could upload a folder’s worth of video projects and pictures of Miss Sev and her babies. There is no one more deserving of recognition than Sevcan Abedin. She was my son’s ABA therapist in his earlier years, working with us in our house and during daily activities and therapies. As a speech pathologist raising my son with autism, I sifted through dozens of individual personalities and skills sets within people before being blessed by Miss Sev walking into our lives.
Other families have always wanted to clone Miss Sev’s skill set and personality for their own child. Her love for others fills the room. Her innate ability to make others feel included and celebrated is strong. She receives recognition across every setting she has worked in, and it is not enough to show everyone’s appreciation.
Sev continues to be the only picture on our refrigerator a decade later from 2 states away. We travel to meet her and gather prior students that remain excited to get a hug and catch up. She genuinely cares about the development of children. I would love to someday hear the number of nominations dedicated to her from families and co-workers. It wouldn’t surprise me if it went into triple digits.
Please consider looking into Sevcan Abedin’s accomplishments. We tried so hard to get her on the Ellen show before it ended.
I was a student for 3 year of this beautiful teacher that show me how to speak, read, and show me a lot of love. She never got mad at me and she is the best teacher.

Hi Im marcela and jimena mother since I meet mis sevcan I knew that my daughters they could not be with a better teacher like her I cried alot when they left ms sevcan classroom.because my daugters will never have a teacher like her and they never gona get a teacher like ms sevcan she is the best teacher ever. She was my son's teacher last year and she is a wonderful person, my son has made so much progress, because of her work with the children and the love she gives them, and the way she educates the children. she is a kind, respectful, cheerful person, and a very good educator, she has my full support for this nomination.

Ms. Sev is truly a miracle worker. She truly takes time to engage with and learn the personality and needs of each individual child. She took my child from being an introverted nonverbal 5 year old to a talkative happy and outgoing kid. Thanks to her special care he is now mainstreamed and thriving! I appreciate everything she continues to contribute to his development.
Mrs.Sev came into our lives when my son entered kindergarten. Me being a mom of a newly diagnosed child on the Autism spectrum was very challenging and I wasn't sure what he needed to excel. From the first day he entered her classroom she made not only him but all of the children feel important, seen, and always advocated for them. Her patience and perseverance to help the children excel is still to this day unmatched. She always saw the ability in my son and knew he could go far and he has. She did that! She set a foundation of confidence, reassurance, and empecable love for all the children.Until this day she's still apart of our support system and my son in now in 6th grade with High Honors. We have been blessed to have her enter our lives when she did. She is truly an angel here on earth.
