Tricia Lattanzio was nominated by her student-teacher and mentee, Amanda Gallagher.
Miss Lattanzio is the kindest, most caring person inside and outside the school. She puts her students first each and every day and goes above and beyond to bring joy and a safe environment to her classroom.
"I was lucky enough to have been Miss Lattanzio's student teacher, and I have seen her interactions with students daily. She taught me to be the teacher I am now. Her guidance is supportive and easily accepted; others often look to her for support," said Gallagher.
Miss Lattanzio shares her love of reading with her students; each month, she gifts her students a book to encourage reading. She also runs the books and braids club, where students gather together in her room before school for her to braid their hair while they read. Miss Lattanzio greets everyone in the school with a smile and a kind laugh. It's evident she impacts each life she is a part of.
"To students, she is the teacher they will remember forever. To colleagues, she is one they are happy to have. And to mentees like myself, she is one I am grateful to learn from," said Gallagher.
I had the pleasure of sharing an educational college journey with Miss Lattanzio. Watching her apply all that she has learned throughout our courses/experiences each & every day to impact little lives has been so admirable. She gives her heart and soul to the profession, and every child she works with is so lucky and so loved.
Ms. Lattanzio is an admirable teacher here at Swiftwater Elementary Center. Everyone can always count on her creative ideas and energetic personality. She's a wonderful teacher and students always have nice things to say about her. Her smile is very contagious and always brings a welcoming feeling wherever she is. We are fortunate and blessed to have such an all around fabulous, devoted person working with us to lead our students. Tricia is truly an all star teacher! She walks in the door everyday with a smile and spreads that cheer amongst her students and her colleagues. Tricia is an AWESOME teacher! She really takes the time to get to know her students personally, and the relationships that she builds are paramount. Her students absolutely love her! Tricia is always willing to help with any activity, programming, or need within the building. Her positive attitude and work ethic are exceptional!
Tricia is an ambassador for Class DOJO which we use in our school. She is able to assist those new to the program and has great suggestions for using this management system. Thanks for all you do.

From the classroom to the hallway, Ms. Lattanzio’s presence is always felt. Year after year, students always want to be a part of her homeroom when entering 3rd grade. The excitement and energy that she brings to her students can be felt in the community and with their families. Ms. Lattanzio also runs a club called Books and braids and has done a great job opening up the student's mind to want to read on their own.

I have the pleasure of having Trish as a colleague...I can feel her FIRE and Passion for teaching her students down the hallway from her!!! She is a very fun and energetic teacher who's love and devotion shine through her teaching...I've never witnessed a student come out of her room without a smile on their face! Congratulations!!!!

Ms. Lattanzio is THE BEST! I am fortunate to have her in my life as not only a colleague, but a friend. My daughter was also lucky to have Ms. Lattanzio as her 3rd grade teacher. She cares about everyone, will help anyone in need, is a wealth of resources and ideas, and always brings her positivity and her enthusiasm to everything she does! I had Mrs. Lattanzio when I was in third grade(I am in 6th now) She always made coming to school so much fun. I liked how the room was always decorated really cool and she made everyone feel welcome. She made us want to read more because she was always reading interesting books to us. We had to leave school early when I was in 3rd grade because of Covid and I was sad I didn't get to end the school year with her in school. She was a great teacher to me:)
Miss Lattanzio is an amazing teacher! I am lucky to work right down the hall from her. She is kind and considerate to all, and never fails to share fantastic and helpful ideas. She is passionate about her students and doing the best things for them. She is a treasure!

I have had the pleasure to know Mrs. Lattanzio and her students as a substitute teacher. It’s not easy coming into a classroom as a substitute, but coming into Mrs. Lattanzios classroom is different. The students are always welcoming and excited to learn, a true reflection of their everyday environment. Mrs. Lattanzio is valued by her students and respected by her fellow teachers. She’s the first to lend a helping hand, a desk to sit at when you just need to talk, and has even taught young kids to braid hair! Whether inside the school or in the community, Mrs. Lattanzio is a true life changer.

I have the honor of being Miss Lattanzio’s student teacher this year! Miss Lattanzio has the biggest and kindest heart, open for her students, colleagues, and everyone in between! Miss Lattanzio is always involved within the school community, along with starting her own club, “Books and Braids”, for her students to come to school early twice a week. Miss Lattanzio has changed the lives of each student she has taught, along with her two student teachers!
I went to school with Tricia years ago. She is extremely kind and helpful. She is a very humble individual who wants to help others and impact them in a positive manner. She is selfless and deserves a tremendous amount of recognition.

Miss Lattanzio puts 110% into her students, her teaching and her all around positive attitude. I have worked with Miss Lattanzio since she begun her teaching career 7 years ago. Her smile is infectious to everyone she comes in contact with. She brightness up everyone's day. She has a unique connection and bond with each and everyone of her students. I always know when I am interacting with one of her students. She not only teaches her students school studies, she teaches them everyday needs. Such as, being polite, using manners and to be the best they can be. This is huge! With all of that being said, Miss Lattanzio is a "LIFECHANGER". Without the person and teacher she is, alot of her students wouldn't be the amazing kids they are today... We thank you for being you Miss Lattanzio!!
I have truly never met a more dedicated , hardworking person let alone teacher in my life. Tricia is the epitome of what it means to be a good teacher , friend and person. She wears her heart on her sleeve and only has kind bones in her body. There is no one I could think of who is more deserving of this title??
Tricia is one of the greatest teachers. I know she truly cares about her students. In a field where so many people are burnt out and miserable she comes in everyday giving it her all and being there for all her students. As someone who has substitute taught for her I know first hand how much her students love and appreciate her!
Miss Lattanzio doesn’t teach in my child’s school but her reputation preceded her and she wishes she could have her.
