LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Eden Withers was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Kauri Sue Hamilton School is a specialized school for children with severe needs. Ms. Withers is one of the fantastic teachers at this school, and there are many reasons why she shines.

Ms. Withers' class consists of older students, many of whom have extreme behaviors that make working with and educating them very difficult. She accomplishes this immense task with a smile and a positive attitude. In addition to having a challenging class, she stepped up to teach another class when their teacher resigned earlier this year. Ms. Withers had to adapt to a new set of challenging students and lead a new bunch of classroom assistants. She has accomplished this without any difference in student care and education and with a smile on her face, as always.

"This year has been especially hard, but through it all, she kept her positive attitude and love of the students. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award," said the nominator.
