Matthew Keeler was nominated by Tiffany Brown, a parent of his student.
"Mr. Keeler has been an instrumental piece of my daughter, Avery's, success in high school science," said Brown. "He makes learning easy for his students and, most importantly, fun. She comes home telling me about things she learns and is always looking forward to what's next in his classes. In addition, he offers his free time after school hours to tutor students in need of additional help. Math is a tough subject for Avery, and Mr. Keeler helps her complete algebra assignments and prepare for quizzes and tests. He is always a cheerleader for his students, and he encourages and praises them along the way. I'm very thankful she has 'that' teacher in her life who will help shape her as an adult and one that she will remember for a lifetime."
Mr.Keeler is an amazing teacher who always made class so much fun. He was always there to answer questions and explain things in a way that made sense. He went above and beyond and was always willing to help us with anything even if it was for a class that he didn’t teach. I’m thankful to have had such a great teacher when I was in school.
Matt is a patient, kind hearted and fun colleague. His love and dedication to his students is beyond measure. Matt reaches all types of learners and makes sure his lessons are interactive. If a student has had the pleasure of being his class, they will never forget him. He teaches lessons far beyond science.
Mr. Keeler is one of those teachers that you do not and will not forget after you move on from high school. Throughout my years at Napoleon, Mr. Keeler was a huge piece of what lead me to success towards my future. With his never-ending support and constant encouragement it is hard not to do well. He finds the best in each of his students and uses that to help everyone individually and as a whole. Mr. Keeler understands the struggles of a teenager and makes you feel seen and heard. This is something you don’t see in many teachers. He truly has a love for what he does and sprinkles that love into everything he could just for his students. As a college student, I would do anything to be back in his class. He is more than deserving of such greatness that this nomination holds.
Mr. Keeler was my high school astronomy/meteorology teacher and it was truly a class that made me appreciate learning and school and everything it can bring. Mr Keeler made class truly enjoyable and is the teacher from high school that inspired me to be better. Thanks Mr. Keeler.
Mr. Keeler was one of my high school science teachers. I remember I really enjoyed his classes because they were super engaging and fun!
But I think one of the more memorable things for me is Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mr. Keeler would open up his classroom before school or during lunch and we could get together. I remember being really impactful for me and my relationship with God.

Mr. Keeler is the only teacher my daughter, Ashlynn would talk about while in high school. Ashlynn is now 20 years old and a freshman in college. While in high school, Mr. Keeler not only supported Ashlynn with his classes, but helped her in other classes while also guiding her through high school life. Mr. Keeler was available to his students while in class, but also during his lunch time, after class and worked to help anytime he was needed. Ashlynn came out her shell with the support of Mr. Keller and I know his influence has played a significant part in who she is today. Thank you Mr. Keeler! I know you made positive changes in Ashlynn’s life!
