LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Lisa Schulz was nominated by an anonymous student.

Mrs. Schulz is a married woman with two children, but she still finds time to care for her father with advanced Parkinson's disease. She has been a teacher at Austin Catholic since 2011. Mrs. Schulz is on her seventh knee surgery and sixth shoulder surgery and is a fighter who pushes through to come to school for her students. Mrs. Schulz cares about her students' well-being as much as their grades, and she hopes her students understand that they tried their best.

Mrs. Schulz does so much for her school, such as serving as head of the Archery and Random Acts of Kindness clubs. While in college, Mrs. Schulz majored in health and psychology, received her Master's in Education, and spent four more years in a seminary to teach her students. That's because she knows that teaching is her purpose and her passion. Her classroom is calming, and she tries to make it feel like home for everybody.

"I know Mrs. Schulz deserves a chance because she is my role model and deserves the world. She cares for everyone, even if they don't care for her," said the nominator. "Mrs. Schulz truly loves being a teacher. She opened my eyes to a new world of faith that I'd never seen before. Mrs. Schulz has been through many challenges, from surgeries to caring for sick relatives...I hope Mrs. Schulz wins, but even if she doesn't, she will always be a LifeChanger in my eyes."
