Cecilia Clemmons was nominated by her colleague, Rowshi Giordano.

"Mrs. Clemmons is a phenomenal school counselor who assists students with various community and personal issues," said Giordano. "I first met Mrs. Clemmons in 2017 as I entered my new school nurse career. Mrs. Clemmons helped me navigate the complexities of mental health and community resources in the school setting, providing me with a wealth of knowledge I otherwise would not have gained in any other setting."

Mrs. Clemmons goes above and beyond for her school, students, and families. Whether a student has an emergent crisis or a family needs resources, Mrs. Clemmons has exceeded expectations. She stays late hours and follows up with students and their families to ensure their basic needs are met, translating into a successful academic school year for the student.

"I've had the opportunity to learn from Mrs. Clemmons during countless Suicide Protocols, Social Worker referrals, and 504 Accommodation meetings," said Giordano. "She advocates for students' needs to prevent interruption to their school day for circumstances that may be out of their control as elementary-level students. She engages with students and families admirably and professionally, leaving a long-lasting imprint on every family, student, and coworker. Alamo Elementary School is truly blessed to have a fantastic advocate like Mrs. Clemmons."
