LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Kerry Stanley was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

"Mrs. Stanley is an amazing counselor," explains her colleague. "She started as the elementary SPED teacher at our school and has worked hard to become our Counselor. She is there for students' needs and wears many hats at our school."

She is a confidant to talk to when in need, a mom to fuss you when you need some motivation to continue, and a coach/mom to her school's different sports teams. She spends most of her time at the school preparing everything for every student. She will stay as late as needed to ensure students' needs are met, whether they're trying to get a jumpstart on their college curriculums or taking the ACT. For those students who wish to go through a technical or trade school, she ensures they have what they need to succeed. She continually uplifts every student and ensures they are on the right track to their desired success.

There is no wrong path in your future in Mrs. Stanley's eyes unless you have no plan. As long as you have a goal, she will do everything she can to see you succeed.

"She also advocates for the younger students," said her colleague. "If students have needs beyond the scope of her responsibilities, she has no problem reaching to the ends of the Earth to meet those needs. When she has students who need extra clothes, may not have provisions at home, or are just not from the best home life, she is there for them and tends to their needs to the greatest extent of her abilities."

Mrs. Stanley personifies the words of Mr. Larry Bell: "Somebody needs you!" She will always be there for every student and staff member's needs.
