Christine Haught was nominated by Kim Abate, a parent of a student.

“I nominate Christine because she is dealing with a lot of kids having anxiety this school year,” explains Abate.  "She also talks to my daughter weekly, who has been dealing with some issues this school year. She has never had issues besides this year. Christine is a saint for having to deal with all the poor kids who are having a hard time this year.”

I met Christine through my daughter Cara who worked with her and lived near her. She was a great friend to my daughter and helped her so much when she needed help and supported her family. Cara spoke so highly of her always and enjoyed her very much. Cara discussed how smart she was and how she was her go to person for needing resources when it came to work. She is well rounded and holds a special place with our family.

Christine worked with my wife and was our neighbor turned good family friend. She was a huge help for our family and my wife during a struggling time. Even when we moved she made it possible to come visit to help lift my wifes spirits up. We are so greatful for her.

There are so many wonderful things to say about Christine and her character not only as a social worker but as a human who genuinely cares for others. No one is excluded from potential events or challenges that could lead a child or family to need a social worker in their life. When that occurs we would all hope to be understood, treated with respect, dignity, compassion and as a unique individual by someone who cares. That someone is Christine! Every day she is present to help little people manage big emotions with her creative interventions, big heart and calming presence. She is dedicated to providing encouragement and support to promote a sense of safety and success in each student she works with. Those of us fortunate enough to be part of Christine’s life in any way, do not have to look for very long to see that she is absolutely deserving of this nomination and all the accolades that would come with winning. Thank you Christine - for who you are and all you do.

Christine is my MSW supervisor, and I couldn't be anymore lucky to be learning from her. No matter her own circumstances, she comes in each day with a positive attitude and determination to help each child and staff member that she interacts with. Christine is incredibly versatile and can match any student with where they are at and what they are going through. She is a vital part to the success of Bissell elementary school and has impacted the lives of so many. Christine sincerely cares for each student and goes out of her way to dedicate personal time and money to projects, additional trainings, and enrichment activities to better the lives of her students. She goes beyond her job title and job hours continuing to prove each day that she is just a genuinely fantastic person. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to work with and learn from Christine! She deserves this recognition for her immense commitment to serving her students.

Christine is such an asset to Bissell. I have gotten to know Christine more this past school year and she is always willing to help out or share ideas. I work as an occupational therapist at Bissell and our caseloads tend to overlap. Christine is willing to collaborate and make sure that the whole child is being seen and helped. Working with a vulnerable group of kids is challenging, but Christine knows how to care for the kids at Bissell gently and with respect. So proud of you, Christine for this recognition!!

It was a pleasure to work with Christine while I worked for Beech Brook. She wholeheartedly gives each child that she encounters her all. With her past experience working in schools, Christine has proved that she knows how to help children in need and shows her passion for social work when she does. Twinsburg City Schools, especially Bissell Elementary is beyond lucky to have her. Christine deserves all the recognition for the hard work that she does each day, day in and day out. The work that Christine does every day is exhausting. Emotionally, mentally and physically exhausting, but she doesn’t let that stop her from going out there to be the best! I could not agree more that Christine deserves this recognition! Thank you, Christine, for all you do!!

Christine is a model school social worker helping students, families, school staff, and beyond in her daily life! She assists students within the school environment with emotional regulation, anxiety management, feelings identification, anger management, and much, much more on both individual and group levels. Christine is always willing to lend a helping hand in her school building and is a great communicator with others. She also goes above and beyond for her team of coworkers throughout the school district! Christine has changed the lives of many students already and continuously makes a positive change for her entire school community!

I supervise Christine in her work as a social worker at Bissell Elementary provided through Beech Brook school-based services. I have known Christine to be very hard-working, reliable, creative in her interventions with young children, and continually goes above and beyond "the call of duty" for her students and her colleagues. She is a wonderful advocate for her students and remains very flexible to ensure the needs of the school district are met. I am proud to have her on my team and a colleague of Beech Brook!

Christine, is one of the most selfless people I know. She truly cares for her family, friends and the kids and families she works with. She’s an empathetic listener and shows true compassion for these kiddos. Christine works effortlessly to help these kiddos with managing their feelings and helping them navigate through life’s ups and downs. She’s truly one of a kind!

She is one of the best social workers out there helping to educate and manage emotions in a school setting. She not only provides for the children but is always supportive of the teachers and staff too. She is such a hard worker and driven and this money could help her boost her program and create a comforting space for her children for wellness and calming stations.
