Savannah Campbell was nominated by her district's Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Daniel Crockett.

"As our nation continues to set the pace for global innovation, it's essential that our local economy has a skilled and committed workforce. Effective school counselors match students' abilities and aspirations to careers that allow their talents to bloom," said Dr. Crockett. "I have been fortunate to have worked with many excellent guidance counselors and can attest that Mrs. Campbell is an exceptional counselor."

Mrs. Campbell has been instrumental in her district's rapidly expanding Career and Technology courses. Within three years, her district's CTE courses have transformed from mainly Business and Agriculture content to fields that now include: Automotive, Health Care, HVAC, Mechatronics, Machine Tool, Electricity, and Education. Students can enroll in courses that align with their interests and career aspirations.

"Developing partnerships is a talent of Mrs. Campbell," explains Dr. Crockett. "Overseeing each high school IGP, Savannah provides parents with sound counsel and empowers them to navigate their child's post-secondary educational experience confidently. Mrs. Campbell also oversees our work-based learning program and is always seeking ways to introduce students to local industries.    
    
However, Mrs. Campbell's greatest gift is her ability to develop positive relationships with students, genuinely separating her from a typical counselor. Mrs. Campbell has established an extraordinary level of student trust. She serves as a hub of information regarding college applications, course scheduling, college testing dates, and even troubleshooting SC WINS scholarship allowances… all while supporting high-risk students struggling with trauma and personal issues!
