Music that Describes Talitha

Talitha Gaylor was nominated by her colleague, Melanie Griffin-Hamlin.

"When the email came through about nominating our school counselor, it was a no-brainer," explains Griffin-Hamlin! "Our school counselor at Lagos Elementary School in Manor, Texas is all about making a difference in the lives of our students. It has been a pleasure to work alongside her since 2017, when we opened this brand new school together."

Ms. Gaylor wears many hats around the school, but being a student cheerleader is her best role! You can find her in classrooms doing character lessons, in her space having club lunches, greeting students during transitions, and just being a true champion for the student body. Under her leadership, her school has been an official national No Place for Hate school each year through the Anti-Defamation League. She comes with a wealth of ideas and resources. She has been through extensive training, including training at the Kimochis headquarters, and is a certified children's Yoga facilitator.

"Her classroom space is just as inviting as her attitude," said Griffin-Hamlin. "She loves positive energy and is currently completing a school-wide campaign based on Jon Gordon's Energy Bus. With her help, we hope no student has to run into an 'Energy Vampire' in our school!"

Mrs. Gaylor is precious and patient. If her day is hectic and crazy, you would not know it by her disposition and smile. Mrs. Gaylor always has time to talk if you need her--just for that request to check-in with one of your students. Mrs. Gaylor always takes time for the children and is super respectful to teachers as well. Thank you Mrs. Gaylor!
