LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Lauren Rockwell was nominated by Holly Eiswirth, her principal.

"Lauren Rockwell is a true LifeChanger at Belle Chasse Elementary School," said Eiswirth. "She serves as our school counselor, but she is so much more. Lauren provides students, staff, and families with any support they may need at any time they may need it. The social-emotional well-being of our students is of utmost importance to her. She finds resources to assist families who may be limited in being able to help their children with social-emotional health."

Ms. Rockwell wears so many hats at BCES; she is the 504, EL, and state testing coordinator.

"She plays a critical role on my administrative team and offers such a positive outlook on any task we face," explains Eiswirth. "She is the leader of our yearly kindness campaign; instilling, teaching, and spreading kindness is her passion."

Ms. Rockwell holds herself and those around her to a very high standard. She has an impeccable work ethic, work performance, and professionalism. Ms. Rockwell strives to be better and to better herself as a professional school counselor. She cares deeply about people, and it shows in all she does. Ms. Rockwell is a leader among the school counselors in Plaquemines Parish. She serves as a mentor and support for new counselors in her district.  

Ms. Rockwell believes in and supports the vision of BCES. She believes all children can learn and grow socially, emotionally, and academically in a positive school culture. Ms. Rockwell works hard daily to show students and staff they are loved and valued at BCES.

"She supports me on my mission to bring BCES to excellence in all we do," said Eiswirth. "I am honored to nominate an amazing school counselor, friend, and colleague for this award!"
