Ashley Carrizales was nominated by Lydia Hernandez, a parent of a student.

“Ashley Carrizales truly made an impact on my daughter and our family during the pandemic,” explains Hernandez. “Our family, as well as 23 other students and their families, had the pleasure of having her for two years, as our school loops teachers. During those years, she went above and beyond to make each child feel special by getting to know them and understanding their needs in education. Mrs. Carrizales is who I wish every child starting school had as a teacher. She truly helped my daughter find her greatest potential, which led to her nomination of gifted and talented in second grade. She still keeps in contact and makes sure each of her former students succeed alongside her current students. Ashley Carrizales is truly the best!”

Mrs Carrizales is truly a blessing to have as a teacher! She has been so very patient with my son since kindergarten and she has made sure that he has every tool possible to succeed. I am very thankful that she is his teacher?

Mrs. Carrizales is the most caring, loving, and truly the kind of educator you pray for your child to have. She was my son’s kinder and 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Carrizales learned each child’s education needs and how they learned best and taught them in a way they were able to not only succeed but surpass expectations. The way my son was able to thrived in her class and grow as a student is something that I will always be so thankful for. He developed a love for reading and school in general with her. I truly attest his academic success to the strong foundation she set in the beginning years of elementary. Not to mention, helping not only the kids through the pandemic but ensuring the kids didn’t fall behind and still felt some kind of normalcy. One incident that sticks out, during the pandemic after school was moved to remote, there was a drive by greeting set up to drive by Mrs. Carrizales to wave and say hi from the car. Well we were late and missed it, she found out my son was so upset he didn’t get to see her, she made a special trip to drive to see him at our house. It made our son so happy he got to see her even if it was just from the driveway. That is just one example of the kind of person and heart she has. Mrs. Carrizales is so deserving of any all awards and recognitions, she is truly making a difference in all the children’s lives that she teaches.
