Chandra Graves was nominated anonymously.
Ms. Graves has taught for 15 years in grades ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade. She serves as a mentor to current and former students. Ms. Graves has made a difference in the lives of her students, and she's a positive force for them and their parents. Ms. Graves ensures her students see her presence in and out of the classroom. Ms. Graves supports them in their extracurricular events and other events that they are engaged in.
Previously, she has served as grade level lead teacher, first-year teacher mentor, and cheerleading coach. Currently, she also serves as the volleyball coach and President of the PTO. In these capacities, she develops strong relationships with parents and students, who value her compassion, commitment, and passion for their future endeavors and well-being. In 2005 and 2018, Ms. Graves was named the Teacher of the Year for her school. She is committed to the value of education for her students, helping them develop their moral characteristics and become well-rounded, valued citizens within the community. She is committed to higher learning and continued professional development for herself as well. Ms. Graves has received leveled and mastery observations from her previous principals. This past year, she supported her educational certificate with an ESOL and Talented and Gifted endorsement. She ensures that she continues to master and learn best practices to assist her students' learning and comprehension of needed skills.
