Lauren Maxwell was nominated by her colleague, Susan LaPointe.
"Lauren Maxwell serves a few more than 1,700 students and 200 staff members," explains LaPointe. "Her door is always open, and her level of care is always at the top. I've known Lauren for four years now, and she always amazes me with her down-to-earth take on things. As far as availability, Lauren is happy to take a call from someone in crisis. If I have a student who is in crisis, they become her first priority. There is no mountain that Lauren can't climb. Every child in the district is one of hers. If a child needs glasses, Lauren makes it happen. Doctor's appointments? No problem. A little one-on-one time? Lauren has the time. After the crises are over, she manages to make students feel safe and heard by giving her time and love."
LAUREN!!!!!!! MY GRIL. No one is more deserving of this award. I worked with Lauren in residential treatment. Let me tell you about Lauren. Lauren is tough when you first meet her you would not think this however give her just a few and you will never question. Lauren and I worked in a rough environment with clients who had significant mental health issues. Lauren helped these clients I watched her change lives with my own eyes. She is tough yet compassionate she is assertive yet kind and caring. Lauren has so much personality she is a wonderful social worker , she is fair, and open minded. There is only one LAUREN and she is truly life changing keep being YOU Lauren.
Lauren has a sweet personality. Lauren helped me a lot last year and checks on me often to make sure I'm still doing well. Lauren has been there for me even when I have been hard to deal with I am thankful for Lauren. Lauren has inspired me to be a strong independent woman. Lauren also has really good taste in music she helped me realize that music is actually therapeutic. Lauren is a great person with a big heart, sweet and fun spirit and huge ear rings (if you know you know.) Thanks Lauren!!!!!!!!!!!
I have debated on posting this because it is personal but I feel my story will help people better understand the life changer Lauren is. Lauren helped my son and me during a difficult time. My son was having some issues at school Lauren stepped in. She came to our home and I knew she would help us. She helped my son get a handle on some of his issues. She helped us in so many ways she did things she did not have to do. She brought us food, helped get us signed up for services, and has become a friend to my family. Lauren is the best her personality and way of talking to people changes lives!
Lauren is a dedicated Social Worker that genuinely loves her job and her students at HHS. She is an inspiration inside and outside the class setting. Every school district would be better if they had a loving/caring social worker that does everything in their power to help the families in need of help as well as the staff. Lauren is a just a precious gift to our community!
Lauren checks on me weekly. I met Lauren during a chaotic time in my life. I was dealing with so many things. Lauren helped me address each problem and helped me learn how to think about my actions. Lauren came to my house and met with me and my mom trying to figure out how to help us. She is not just for me at school she is for me all the time. Lauren brought me needed items when I was sick., she helped me apply for a job, and helped me find the right degree choice for college. Lauren has helped change my life. Thank you Lauren,
Lauren is kind and gracious whether she is in school or out about town. Even handling a crisis, even if it means her family must wait…it’s off to the phone booth for SuperLauren to the rescue. When doing for others, she is amazing. When having something done for her family, she is deeply appreciative. When we built a doll house for her daughter, Lauren was touched that we would think of her children and love on them as she loves on the kids in the district.
Lauren has talked with me over the past two years and has helped me with so many things. Lauren does not judge me or some of the situations in my life. I trust her. She does not always take my side and calls me out when I'm wrong. She has helped me with relationships and trying to make better choices in my life. Lauren has helped me with my grades too. When I have issues and I feel alone I go to her she always seems to find a way. She has encouraged me to be more active in things at school. I love her. She has helped change my life.
Lauren is not only here for students. Lauren has helped me personally and I can't thank her enough. Privacy is very important to Lauren, and I appreciate that so much. I have spoken with Lauren about things in my past and she has helped me understand so many things. When you first meet Lauren, you may think no one can care this much...but she does! She has reached out to me during her time off, weekends, holidays etc. to make sure I'm ok. Lauren is friendly, knowledgeable, and just gives an overall vibe that radiates positivity and respect.
There is NO ONE more deserving than Mrs. Maxwell. She works 24/7. She has helped more students and staff than I ever thought was possible. She never stops. She tends to people's physical, emotional and mental needs. She is selfless. She is giving. She is firm and she is amazing. I beg you to consider her as your winner. She is a TRUE LIFE CHANGER!
I look forward to my appointments with Ms. Lauren. She doesn't point out a problem without having a solution in mind. That's why Ms. Lauren deserves to be recognized. She is always on my side, even if it doesn't seem that way. I love Ms. Lauren.

Ms. Lauren is the best. She has helped me with depression and working on things that I can control. She is always happy and sees the best in us even when we mess things up. She has helped me with my relationships with adults. Ms. Lauren says sometimes adults don't get it right and she is right about that. I want to say a big thank you to her and make sure she knows that we love her.
Lauren Maxwell is well deserving of this nomination. Our district is so very fortunate to have her as our social worker. Lauren is very easy to talk to and work with. I am a school nurse in our district and have worked with her on several occasions. She does what it takes and not only just during school hours. She has a heart for service and making sure our students and staff are taken care of to the best of her ability and with the resourses that she has been given. I truely love her and her passion for our district as a whole. She does what it best for our students, whether it is taking them to doctor's appointments, dentist appointments or taking food to their homes. She is absolutely amazing!!!!
Just in the short time that I have gotten to know Lauren I can tell you that she is truly an amazing person. She cares about the students and staff in our district. I have seen her go above and beyond for students in our district. She is without a doubt a Life Changer for Hamburg School District.
It brings me comfort to know I have Lauren to call on for support when I notice one of my students struggling. It is evident that Lauren is blessed with a gift that not many have. I am proud to work with her here in Hamburg School District!
Lauren is a wonderful person. Lauren is an asset to Hamburg School District and the families that have the opportunity to work with her. She is always friendly and has a smile on her face. Lauren is an amazing asset in our school district. Not only does she help care for students and families in need, she takes students and their families to doctors appointments, parent/teacher conferences, etc. She also comes into our schools and meets with different behavior and social groups of students to help them succeed in the classroom. She is down-to-earth and real with everyone she comes in contact with. She is never judgemental and the students and staff feel as if we can tell her anything and she will go above and beyond to do whatever she can to help. She is an absolute LIFE CHANGER!!
Lauren is an asset to our school district and a blessing to many students. She always goes above and beyond and treats everyone fairly and works so hard to find solutions to help people in need. She makes you feel as if you have always known her from the time you meet her and makes it very comfortable for people to gain trust.
Not only Lauren's students are taken care of but also their families are a priority and are served with love and respect. Each year Lauren works very hard to make sure needs are taken care of, not just once but as many times as needed. She is a very giving person, and completes each task with a smile on her face. Life Changer........... yes!
Lauren is extremely down-to-earth,
non judgmental, and very productive with her work! Her sense of style is intriguing! Lauren is easy to approach and talk to!! She is also my PRN employee at our medical hospital, and she is always willing to fulfill my staffing on the days she is available! Lauren is a professional who goes above and beyond with her students and patients! I love the passion she has for helping others. She works outside of typical school hours, and that shows how devoted she is to giving back to the community! Vote4Lauren!
Lauren has helped me during some difficult times over the past three years. Lauren listens to what we tell her and does not look at us like we are "just teenagers." If Lauren tells me she is going to do something she, does it. She has taken me to doctors appointments, made sure I have my meds, and even made sure my family has enough food. She makes you feel welcomed and included. I was struggling socially and she helped me find a way. I was struggling with depression and she helped me find my way. I love her and I'm thankful for her she deserves this award and more! She has helped me more than I can explain.
I've been talking to Mrs Lauren since I was a freshman. She has helped me grow up in a lot of ways. I used to be really angry. Mrs Lauren helps me to work through it and to become stronger because of it. I really hope that Mrs Lauren wins this award because she deserves to be recognized for what she does. If someone is in crisis, they can go to her and she will help them through it so that they can be stronger. I can be stronger.
When I was first introduced to Mrs Lauren, I thought that she couldn't be that caring. Now, I know that she is. The teacher who recommended that I see Mrs Lauren was right. There's no harm in getting help, and no one better to go to than Mrs Lauren.
Lauren is a rockstar! She helps so many students and families within our district. We can always count on her to be in our corner and put the child's best interest first!
Lauren is the down to earth lady with a sense of style. She slaps on a smile as she bounces down the hall even though the things she deals with weekly (if not daily) would make most of us cringe. She has a supply of clothes for those in need, has been known to pick up and deliver groceries to families, and is available to have serious talks with students who are struggling. When delivering groceries would embarrass a student or family member, she finds a way to make things work out. I have asked her to check on a student when things just seem a bit off. She can´t always tell me what the outcome is, but will let me know that she spoke with them and is handling whatever is needed.
I have students ask to go see Mrs. Lauren, because they trust her guidance, care, concern, and real talk. Lauren is not a push over who just tells the student to make excuses for their circumstances. She gets ¨real¨ with them and helps students see what they are able to control in their situation. She pulls them in after the situation has been resolved and continues to check on them.
Lauren is an amazing asset to Hamburg School District and our students' well-being is more secure with her in all of our lives. Thank you to this amazing woman who works in the best interest of our students day or night. Our district is so fortunate that she loves the kids that are sometimes the most difficult to love, but who need it the most.

To know Lauren Maxwell is a privilege and an honor. Her love for the students in the Hamburg School District is phenominal. I am finding it difficult to put into words the amount of commitment Lauren possesses within her soul for each and every individual she meets. I am grateful for the grace, dignity, knowledge, and compassion she exhibits each day. I believe that we each have a gift in this life. I honestly believe that Lauren is praising the Lord with hers as she serves our district and community.

Mrs. Lauren is one of the biggest assets to our school district. She serves all of the Hamburg School District. She serves so many needs of our students and their families each and every day. All of the students love her. She's caring and king. She is so supportive of the needs of our students and of our staff. Mrs. Lauren goes above and beyond what her job is. We love her!
