Music that Describes Lindsay

Lindsay O'Neil was nominated by Mithushielah Romero, a parent of a student.

"I was a new mom here in VT, moving from IN last year. Lindsay's school made me feel welcome, loved, and safe, so I instantly knew my daughter would be safe in their fold," explains Romero. "Lindsay was one of the first teachers who included me in everything and gave me peace of mind as I am a single mom raising my kid alone in rural VT.

"She not once made me feel different nor identified, as I am a total minority everywhere. A single mom raising a kid in a Catholic school can be seen as taboo, but not in her school," said Romero. "As a mother raising three kids herself, I can see how much she does not just for my kid, but also her own kids. It is that everyday modeling of values (kindness, courtesy, inclusion, forgiveness, and love) that I put a premium on nowadays.

"It is not always the roar of picture taking during grand days, but her telling me 'It's ok, if you've forgotten your kid's lunch box for the nth time today,' or that I forgot a project for my kid. She would tell me: 'It's ok, we've got her covered,' or would give me a hug to console me when the last school shooting in Texas happened," said Romero. "I don't expect teachers to lay down their lives, but I know with absolute certainty that she will protect my kid if necessary from any harm or evil. I can feel the strength of character simply from her gentle voice and firm hug. She gives daily acts of goodness and goodwill."

"It is great peace of mind knowing that my child will never be hungry, thirsty, or cold, nor scared as she is surrounded by loving, caring teachers in her school. Their director models those values in school and how she raises her own kids, which is why I pick her as my LifeChanger of the Year."

Romero would like to honor O'Neil with this song: Hero - A song for Teachers by Julie Durden

I came to Lindsay's school as a distraught, nervous parent looking for a school my children could feel welcomed at while getting a good education. Lindsay immediately welcomed us with open arms. She made us feel that we belonged and part of the school family. She is always encouraging, loving and has kind words to offer students as well as parents. It is evident that she loves her school and her work shows. She is always looking at ways to keep the children engaged and motivated and includes them in making decisions. We are truly blessed to have Lindsay!

Blessed are we indeed to have Lindsay in our school. She is “the can do” gal. She makes it all happen. Not sure how she juggles it all but she does it with such grace and joy. Thank you for all you do for our children & school as a whole.

Lindsay gives her all to the school, the kids, and the parents, while being a parent to her own 3 children! When we first started looking at the school it was Lindsay that first hand showed us what kind of remarkable community we'd be joining. Lindsay 1000% has earned this achievement!!

Lindsay is amazing. Since she joined the school, 5 years ago, she has been a constant, positive influence on all of us. Every time you look at her, she has a smile on her face. She goes above and beyond to help the school to thrive. My kids have been at St. Michael’s School for 9 years now, and she has been the best Admission Director we have ever head. Her nomination is well deserved!

Teachers are not only there at the school to work and earn their keeps! A good, reliable and trusted teacher is a gem, if you meet one. I believed the description of my daughter, Mithus, to Lindsey O’Neill is first hand information from the mouth of a mother who is looking for somebody to take charge of her child like as-if they are taking care of their own child! By giving the security to the mother and the child is a very impressive characteristic of Miss O’Neill. Thank you very much! I would like to applaud and commend you for what you are! Take care always and God bless!

Lindsay is the gal behind the scenes who’s always ready to support the children and parents alike. My sister has been so happy with this school and their efforts in teaching values to students that are important in living a good life.
