Karen McWethy was nominated by her husband, Joseph McWethy.

"My wife, Karen McWethy, has worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for 22 years," explains Mr. McWethy. "I've watched her work tirelessly, giving her all while raising our three children and helping with care for my parents. Her commitment to getting the highest and most commendable audit is a standard she has always met and exceeded."

"She is well loved by her supervisor, colleagues, and Osuna community," said Mr. McWethy. "She's always involved and making sure everyone is well taken care of.  She has often said 'I am a mom to 500 children.' I've watched her make care packages and give clothing to children in need, including costumes for fall parades!"

Karen is my sister. She has no idea I'm writing this and actually I only stumbled across it while googling for her address as I'm not home. (Sending her a birthday gift!). She is an amazing daughter to our parents, an amazing wife, mother and grandmother and of course an amazing sister! When our mom had a very problematic knee replacement, she flew out to California to help care take her. She's always there for me and really stepped up during Covid to orchestrate Zoom calls among our family so we could keep in touch. In addition, she speaks pridefully about her interaction with co-workers and the students of the school. I really think she found her calling there and I'm so proud of her.
