Sharon Goodman was self-nominated.

This year, Dr. Goodman brings her career to a close after 40 years of working with youngsters in the School District of DeSoto from preschool through college level. She has made a difference in the lives of children, youth, and their families by encouraging them to learn all that they can. Dr. Goodman has encouraged the parents of her students to go back to school to get their own diplomas. She has urged paraprofessionals to go back to school and further their education to become teachers. Dr. Goodman has encouraged teachers to go back to school to further their education to become principals. She is continually encouraging others to be their best.

She has served as a teacher, principal, dropout prevention coach, and graduation coach. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at the local community college. This year, she assisted the Class of 2022 of DeSoto High School to amass nearly $1 million in scholarships to attend various colleges and other institutions, as well as the military.
