Teri Willis was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.
"Teri Willis, a dedicated teacher and founder of Christian Cottage Prep in Fort Worth, Texas, has changed the lives of every single student she teaches, including mine," said the nominator. "Before Teri Willis, I was a child who struggled in school. I had fallen so far behind that I had little to no hope of catching up in academics. I needed special help when it came to learning, and no one could help me before CCP. Teri stepped up to the plate along with my parents and said, 'She can learn, she will learn, and I will help her.' If not for her dedication and drive, I would not have accomplished half the things I have gone on to accomplish as an adult, mother, and business owner."
"Teri sculpts students' minds by taking a positive, 'I can' approach to learning. She has taught parents like me how to maintain a proactive standpoint within their child's education and that settling for 'good enough' is never truly good enough for your child," said the nominator.
"She has truly led by example as a mother, teacher, and friend. I am so grateful for the things Teri taught me when I was a CCP student. Now, my husband and I are forever grateful for her continuing dedication and drive when it comes to our son, who was the first second-generation CCP student," said the nominator.
"Whether or not Teri Willis wins this award, she has already won the award in our book. Our hearts and words could never describe how much she means to our community," said the nominator.
There is so much to say about Teri Wills, this teacher deserves an award because she genuinely cares about her students' success. She never let me fail but instead, she guided me to success. If it weren't for CCP I don't think I would attend college. I currently attend Texas State University majoring in Business Marketing with a Sales Concentration. I believe that CCP opened several doors and new discoveries in my lifetime, Mrs. Wills is an outstanding educator and I admired that she is truly engaged in our education to be successful tomorrow.
As a Teacher I so appreciate Teri's vision for Christian Cottage Prep. The students are tested to see where they are academically so we know what they need to succeed. We get to see the students grow and learn.
My children were both fortunate enough to be taught by Teri at CCP. I can unabashedly say she was instrumental in their development as students and their maturity and accountability as teens and young adults . They still remember her as being a major influence their lives . Her uncompromising teaching style and her meticulous attention to detail and high expectations push each chid to reach their best potential while her innate motherly nature makes them feel nurtured and cared for. Her attention to grammar and vocabulary gave my children an “unfair advantage” which still reflects itself in their higher level writing today, almost a decade later. She truly cares and connects on a personal level to truly nurture every student and support every family she works with and I believe she is very deserving of this award.
Mrs. Willis is one of the most significant influences I've ever had. Ever since I first came under her tutelage at age 7, her constant nurturing and unwavering guidance worked to set me straight and uphold a standard of education I couldn't have achieved otherwise. She challenged me and my rebellious nature, in turn, providing me with the skills to excel when I eventually went my own way. Even when moving overseas took me away from her watchful eye, she didn't hesitate to give me and my family options on how to continue her personalized CCP curriculum. Mrs. Willis is honest, caring, and deeply invested in the growth and success of those under her influence. Mrs. Willis had and always has been one of the people who raised me into who I am today; a furiously stubborn, constantly pushing forward, A+ student. Even as a person, I honestly cannot picture who I would’ve become without her. In my mind, no one is more fit to receive this award than Mrs. Teri Willis.

Teri is an amazing educator and person! Our son had struggled to advance in math at the public school. After having attended CCP, it is now his favorite subject. Teri takes the time to understand parents' goals and child's needs to formulate education that works for the individual. Teri is patient and thoughtful and treats everyone like family. We are thankful for her and all she does.
Our children are receiving the very finest education available at Christian Cottage Prep. Mrs. Willis and her staff are Life Changers.
My daughter started in the summer program at CCP 3 years ago. Terri has been an amazing teacher and mentor to my daughter. During the pandemic, Terri continued to show her passion and love to each student to make sure optimal learning was continued . Terri is very deserving of this award. Keep up the great work Terri at CCP.
Mrs. Willis made a huge difference in our daughter Grace’s education and life. When we realized that the school Grace had been attending before caused her to fall behind, we set about looking for someone to help. Mrs. Willis helped Grace get back on track and graduate on time with her age group! She is now in her freshman year in college and still benefits every day from the study habits and skills she learned from Mrs. Willis. We are so grateful for her! She has very high standards and yet is kind and empathetic to kids, and her personalized teaching style is geared exactly to what each child needs.
We met Teri many years ago when my youngest son was struggling in school. Once he became a full time student at CCP. My son began the uphill struggle to learning. With Teri’s help he was able to enroll in high school and now he is going to college. Looking back now As a parent I can say Teri was such a blessing for my son. I am sure she will be a blessing for future students. Thank you Teri for all your hard work with my son
As a previous student of Mrs. Willis, I believe I wouldn't have ever found my footing without her help. Beginning as a first-gen middle school student, I was lost and unaware of the rigors of academia. When I started with her in 8th grade, school always seemed daunting and impossible. Her patience and kindness were super helpful in setting the foundation necessary for my entire education. Using the reasoning and study skills I learned from her, I have been able to excel in every academic challenge ever since. While many educational professionals have helped me get into med school, I can without a doubt say that Mrs. Willis was the one that changed my life. My entire family and I are thankful for her investing so much in my future.
We are in our first semester at the school and could not have been more blessed to have found Teri. She is unbelievably kind, caring and patient. My daughter absolutely loves the school and the atmosphere Teri has created in it. It feels more like friends and family hanging out and working together throughout the day than it does a typical school day. I have homeschooled my daughter and have been very hesitant to put her in school due to her medical history and learning differences. After meeting with Teri I was at ease and even excited for my daughter to go to this school. Very thankful to have such a wonderful person in our lives.
Teri Willis has definitely changed our lives. Due to several medical issues that developed for our son, the school he previously attended would no longer work for him. After a couple of well respected educators recommended calling Teri Willis I decided to follow through and see if she could help our son. We truly felt we had nowhere to turn but thankfully Teri was/is willing to do what it takes to help our son. She spent many hours with me on the phone to figure out how to best help him. She is encouraging, gracious, kind, patient and an outstanding educator. We are very thankful for Teri and Christian Cottage Prep!
Terri is as diligent a person as one can meet. She is conscientious, sensitive, intuitive, and has a high standard of teaching excellence.

As a student at CCP this nomination means the ENTIRE world to me. There is no one better for this award than Mrs.Willis, she is a woman who in her worst days or hardest times, always puts her “kids” first before herself. She is dedicated in everything that she does, she is a strong hand to have in high school life. As a sophomore, Mrs.Willis is my Grammar and literature teacher. At the beginning of every book we read, she will always goes out of her way to make some type of food for the beginning of our book (that is in the story.)
As her influence grows on me, she has toughened me up when it comes to school but also in life, from a Godly perspective. A true christian, A strong woman, and an amazing teacher. Teaching is her god given talent, very few can teach (actually teach) like Mrs.Willis.
There is not grater influence than that of a teacher. I could not ask for a better one.
