Kenneth Robert Spohn was nominated by a colleague who wished to remain anonymous.
Mr. Spohn's multiple talents and flexibility make him easy to work with. His calm, positive, reinforcing demeanor produces positive and highly successful outcomes for all stakeholders. He encourages and creates an atmosphere that fosters participation with all activities. His interactions with community members, students, parents, and staff are welcoming and wanted. In his classroom, Mr. Spohn is always thinking outside the box and searching for new, creative, hands-on and interactive ways for the students to grasp the information being taught. As a result, a majority of his students completely understand the material he teaches and have proven to be highly successful, both in school and years later in their careers.
The Plantation High School Community is fortunate have Mr. Spohn as an active member. He has definitely proven to be a LifeChanger to this community!

Mr. Spohn's love of and teaching mathematics is inspiring to his students and colleagues. His leadership on the school's campus has positive impacts from the classroom and spanning across the world through the IB program. As a teacher and department head, he has become a role model for students and teachers alike. Being relatable and easy-going means that everyone can go to Mr. Spohn with any question or for any advice they may need and he is always ready to help in anyway he can. It is these characteristics that make a lasting impression and that make Mr. Spohn a lifechanger!
I have had the honor of working with Mr. Spohn as an administrator. The most important role an educator plays is the one of building relationships with students. If this can be done the impact they will have on their lives will be everlasting. His ability to build these relationships fostered his ability to teach complex skills and have his students develop a love of this difficult and rigorous content. These days, when education is so difficult, it is encouraging to find teachers, like Mr. Spohn, a true diamond in the rough. Mr. Spohn would exemplify everything that this award stands for. He is more than deserving of such an honor.
He has done nothing but support the field of math and science. His dedication to teaching is what really makes him a positive role model for others.
I am a colleague of Mr. Spohn. He is always available to listen and help make decisions about curriculum and planning. He is a very encouraging guy. He promotes our successes in the classroom. Mr. Spohn is very good at computers and always helps me with computer knowledge. I am so happy that he is nominated for this award. He is well deserving of this award.
Mr. Spohn is a leader to both his studentS and his colleagues. He inspires everyone around him to think outside of the box and to do their best. He builds great relationships with his students who often come back to visit even after they graduate. This is well deserved Spohn, you are an inspiration!
Having three children taught by this outstanding teacher is already a life changer. Not only did all of them enjoyed his class to the point of looking forward to go his class and even writing an EE in math, but to be able to associate and be inquisitive about everything that is related to math is extraordinary. I guess being able to make people love math is already a life changer. Thanks Mr Spohn on behalf of my family!!
Robbie is a great man! He is truly passionate about teaching and pushes all his students to achieve their very best. He is a great friend! Someone you can always count on when you need him!
Mr. Spohn is an educator whose influence reaches beyond the classroom into the community.
Mr. Spohn was one of my most influential teachers in high school. 8 years later I still remember much of what I’d learned from him! His classroom is always an enriching, encouraging, and comfortable learning environment. It is truly a unique atmosphere in which students constantly thrive. I cannot think of another math course I’ve ever taken that every single person was able to grasp the concepts being taught. He is definitely “life changing”!

I have never seen a man grade AP stats exams faster while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Rob is true beast and a very rare breed, as he is well versed in a variety of AP and IB courses. His school and students are very lucky to have him.
I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Spohn at Plantation and he is an absolutely incredible educator. His students consistently raved about his class!! Outside of the classroom he is an incredible person and made working at Plantaion an unforgettable experience.
