Anne Deeds was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.
Every family at Pierce Hammock Elementary School (PHES) knows of Mrs. Deeds, whether it's at dismissal, where she calls each car number by student's first names, or through her elaborate and fun attire on all the school spirit days. It may be at the local ball fields, where she's present with her own children but takes the time to see her students play. Mrs. Deeds has been with Palm Beach County School District for over 16.5 years, and she has been teaching at PHES for 15 of those years.
She began as a first-grade teacher for three years, moved on to third grade for six years, and has been a second-grade teacher since 2015. In 2019, she earned her certification and became the Gifted teacher for the second-grade team. Mrs. Deeds embodies all the attributes that constitute a LifeChanger. She makes beneficial differences in the lives of her students through her commitment to positive reinforcement in her classroom, her leadership with her constituents, and her commitment to producing a nurturing environment for her second-grade class.
If Mrs. Deeds has a bad day, you wouldn't know it! She is always energetic, positive, and respectful to all the students, families, and staff at Pierce Hammock. This energetic personality carries through in her positive reinforcement and enrichment of the students. When a current student, Landon, was asked about Mrs. Deeds, he replied, "Mrs. Deeds is my favorite teacher because she is fun!"
Acknowledging that all students learn at different paces, Mrs. Deeds created a "Mastery Program." The Mastery Program is for students who have excelled in the classroom and have finished work early. They are given over 100 topics to research in various categories, current trends, science, geography, English, etc. Students receive prizes for every ten items completed. If the student accomplishes all 100 topics, Mrs. Deeds will personally buy them lunch from their favorite local restaurant. This "Mastery Program" helps students learn how to research topics they would not normally learn in second grade and allows them to build confidence in their knowledge going into third grade. She consistently displays the burning desire to inspire each of her students to learn successfully, and there is always positive energy in her classroom.
Mrs. Deeds also introduced a school-wide Positive Reinforcement Program called "Brag Tags." She researched and pushed the teachers to participate, and she secured school-wide buy-in to the program. The younger grade levels still use Brag Tags as a great reward system and motivation for when students reach classroom milestones.

Mrs. Deeds is a whirlwind of enthusiasm and positivity with structure and organizational skills. I’m so grateful that she is teaching our child this year. I have already noticed growth in maturity and enthusiasm for reading. Thank You!
My daughter has only been in her class for a few weeks, but you can already tell what a special teacher Mrs. Deeds is. You can tell she has so much love for all her students, and such an infectious enthusiasm for teaching. She seems so dedicated, has such a positive attitude, and so willing to make these kids LOVE to learn, and in such a fun environment. I've heard nothing but amazing things about her, and we look forward to a great year.
There are moments when you know you are around a really special teacher. They surround their students with opportunities to learn in fun and exciting ways that challenges them and ignites a curiosity to challenge themselves to learn something new. Mrs. Deeds is certainly energetic and when I first walked into her classroom I fell into a world of wonder and curiosity myself. From my daughter's first meeting to today the spark to learn burns brighter in her eyes. We are excited to hear the new lessons learned, new challenges accomplished and how much fun she is having learning with Mrs. Deeds.
Anne Deeds is a wonderful teacher and is truly dedicated to making a difference in her students lives! She makes learning engaging and fun for her students. Not only is she an amazing teacher but she is also a great coworker who supports her team. She is very deserving of this award!!!!
Mrs. Deeds has been a teacher at Pierce Hammock since 2006. She one PHENOMENAL teacher! She is always positive, rewarding and upbeat. and genuinely cares about her students and their success.

I’ve had the privilege to work alongside Mrs. Deeds as well as have all 3 of my children in her class. Anne has a magical aura about her that radiates wherever she goes. Her positive attitude and willingness to help others is inspiring. My children loved every minute of being in her class, from the chants and dances, to the hugs in the hallway before and after they were in her class. Anne is MOST deserving of this award for her dedication to her forever students and her passion to change lives through learning!
Anne is SO deserving of this award. I meet this incredible human being at Florida State University and was drawn to get her immediately. Everything she does is magical especially the way she teaches. Just being around her makes u feel better, stronger, and empowered to take on anything the day brings your way. How lucky can kids get to have her as a Teacher. From the minute you get to her class till the moment those children leave to go home they are mesmerized by her energy, unique style of teaching and how FUN she makes her classroom. Both my kids were blessed to have Mrs. Deeds as their teacher. She has amazing energy, makes every student feel important and strives to bring out the best in every student. She goes above and beyond in and out of the classroom. She has made the world a better place!

My daughter, now a senior in high school, had Mrs. Deeds in third grade. I can't think of anyone more deserving!! Her smile and energy are infectious!! She is amazing with all the students whether in her class or not! She challenges and motivates them! I spent a lot of time at PHES while my kids attended, whether it was volunteering or subbing so Mrs. Deeds knew me, and both of my kids. On my sons fifth grade DC trip she went out of her way to keep an eye on my son. He wasn't even in her "group" and I received a call from her one of the nights that he was just really upset, crying and didn't want to eat. She pulled him away from the madness, calmed him down and called me so he could talk to me. I will never forget her kindness that trip!!
I can see and hear the passion and dedication she has as a teacher for her students every time she shares her school work stories. I have the priviledge to know this wonderful lady for past few years. Shes a bright shining star to those around her! Hope she gets this award she truly deserves!
I have had the privilege of having Mrs. Deeds as a teacher for my son and have also worked in her classroom as substitute on many occasions. As a teacher, she invested so much into my son and truly built his confidence. When he entered her class as a second grader he had struggled a little bit academically and did not enjoy reading or math. After being in her class he was placed in the advanced math program where he thrived and her teaching put him on a trajectory to love reading and in turn love learning. She was patient, kind, and her love for her students is obvious in every way. She made learning fun and I believe os one of the best teachers any of my kids have had.
Anne Deeds deserve this recognition because she truly loves being a teacher & will continue to be a life changer to many many of her students. I’ve been friends with Anne for more than 10yrs. My friendship with her is a blessing.
My daughter had Mrs. Deeds in the 2nd grade. She has accelerated ever since and is now in the 4th grade and in AMP. Mrs. Deeds challenged her in a good way and brought out her full potential.
I have known Mrs. Deeds for 28 years and I can say with 100 percent assurance that Anne Deeds loves what she does, is passionate about her work, and cherishes her role as a teacher. She is a great friend and an amazing person and her students are lucky to have her as their teacher!
Anne Deeds lights up every room she enters. She is so enthusiastic about being a teacher. Her students are her babies! The excitement for her career began when I met her studying at Florida State University and to this day it continues. Her heart bursts with pride when she gets a chance to fill me in on her school year. Any student who is lucky enough to have time with her will be better off for it!
Anne Deeds is as rare as a unicorn. The way she dives herself into her students is just so magical. Not only have I had the pleasure of having her teach my daughter in 2020, one of the hardest years for every teacher, but I have also had the privilege of being coworkers and see just how wonderful she is with all her students. Anne’s face lights up when she comes up with a cute song that her students can sing to learn a math or writing skill. She genuinely cares about her students and strives to make a difference in the lives of her kiddos. If anyone is deserving of this award it is Anne Deeds. No doubt about it.
Anne Deeds is one of the most dynamic teachers I have ever worked with. Her enthusiasm for teaching and learning is infectious. She is genuine and filled with compassion for her students. She builds authentic relationships with students, their families, and her colleagues. She leads when necessary and follows when appropriate. She is any principal’s dream and was an absolute pleasure to supervise. Though I continue to try to persuade her to come work for me again in high school she is committed to the difference she is making with her elementary kiddos. Her impact will be seen for years in the students she teaches. I am beyond excited for her to be nominated for this notable recognition she is so deserving of and undoubtedly support her and this worthy acknowledgment.
Anne Deeds Is one of the best teachers I have ever experienced. She is creative makes learning fun.My granddaughter had her and made a huge impression on her. She can show children how to learn in a fun way. She has made an indelible mark on my children that has carried on through high school and college. Mrs.Deeds, where can I even begin.
She was my teacher for 3 years while I was in elementary school at Pierce Hammock. One of my very first teachers who really made a huge impact on my life. It is now 2022 and I am an alumni at PBSC where I have my associates degree at age 21 and am on the path to obtaining my bachelors degree. Mrs.Deeds gave me all of the tools I needed in my education to succeed and the courage to do so!! I couldn’t have made it here without her!! I did not have the best family life growing up and she made sure to push me even harder to continue to better my work, because she knew one day I had the potential to do great things with my life -And she is like that with every student she teaches. She gives students to confidence and courage to learn all while making it fun!!! I have learned to be strong and push on and never give up on my dreams because of her! She is one of the most influential teachers I have ever had throughout my education! I can truly say she has definitely - changed my life. Thank you so much for being such a role model for me and for all of your other past and present students. Thank you for continuing to change their lives as you did mine. Mrs. Deeds was a blessing to have as our son’s teacher this year. She made the transition of moving across country to a new school so welcoming for our kid. She genuinely cares about her students and their success by keeping parents in the loop with strategies to work on at home. Thank you, Mrs. Deeds for being so patient with him!
Mrs. "Good Deeds" is a better name for this beautiful and inspirational teacher of the lucky 2nd graders at PHES. She is passionate not only about teaching our children but also mentoring them to be better people. She is the teacher that you will remember for the rest of your life...and that's a life changer! Her positive energy and warm loving personality go well beyond the classroom, and everyone she touches is a better person after meeting her. Her smile says it all and more. As soon as you meet Anne, you can feel her warmth, her positive attitude and energy and see what a genuine caring person she is. She is someone that will do anything for anyone; I imagine she’s never met a stranger. She pours her heart and soul in to her family, students and friends. Anne is the most amazing woman I have ever known. She is always happy, enthusiastic, bubbly, and loving. Her caring personality shows in every aspect of her life, and the children in her class feel her love and excitement for learning.
Whenever I am with her outside of her school environment, it is always fun when we run into her students, especially her former students. This is my first year working at Pierce Hammock Elementary. It didn’t take long to find out who Mrs. Deeds is and her role(s) here. Her positivity is amazing and follows her from the classroom into the hallways and out the door to the car line after school. And let’s not forget her smile that she shares with EVERYONE who crosses her path. Her students and the school is lucky to have such a dedicated teacher and wonderful person.
I know Anne from a workout class. She is easily the most positive, upbeat, and friendly person you can meet. She welcomed me in the class as a cycle newbie and made me feel at home. This small gesture encouraged me to keep coming back and has truly had a positive impact on me physically and mentally. She continues to encourage her family, friends, and students to be their best selves and is there to lend support along the way.
I’ve had the privilege of getting you know Anne more recently through our cycling ‘spin’ class that we both attend several times a week. Some of the earliest conversations I’ve had with her have centered around her love for teaching. It is apparent that teaching is not just a job for her, but a true passion. She has expressed the joy she feels, and really the ultimate reward of making a difference in the lives of her children. I don’t know that I’ve met another teacher that has emitted this level of enthusiasm for what they do; it’s impressive and commendable.
In spin class, her character remains consistent: she is always outgoing, friendly and fun. She is a staple of the class; you notice when she is there, as she exudes positivity and comradery.
Anne is an all-around great person who is selfless and supports those around her. I just recently learned of the programs she has helped to set up at Pierce Hammock. The fact that she goes above and beyond the expectations of her job title to provide further resources to the students, with the only incentive being to help them, I would say certainly attests to her character and ‘true grit.’ Please consider Anne for your Grand Prize, as I truly believe she is a LifeChanger, in both education and personal life.
Anyone child would be most fortunate to have Anne Deeds as their teacher. Though my kids did not have the pleasure of Mrs. Deeds as their teacher, she has become a friend and better yet family member to my children. But most importantly she is a true loyal human being and such a positive role model to all children that she comes in contact with. There is no one more deserving of this award than Anne Deeds.

Just finished reading all these amazing comments about my sister! And wow.. I am truly touched, as I know she is as well. When she told me she was nominated , she was so excited and happy. I know I am a bit biased, but I am blessed to call her my sister. I know she touches the lives of these little people everyday. I hear it her stories, I see when I am visiting and curren and former students and parents all come up to say hello or give her a hug. Teaching is and has always been such a passion for her. Mrs. Deeds was my team teaching partner for over ten years. She was AMAZING to work with - always coming up with innovative ways of reaching students. She kept everyone in our grade level always motivated to do more for our students. She was all about building positive relationships with students, rewarding student efforts using sticker books and the classroom store, and implementing phonics instruction using songs/chants to help them decode words efficiently. Mrs. Deeds was always the first one to volunteer for administrative initiatives, and would take them even further. At one point, she started a physical fitness club after school which the students loved in order to support physical activity with students. Is Mrs. Deeds a life changer? Most definitely, she changes the lives of her students daily by offering them always 110% of herself, and providing them with the best quality education.
I met Anne 37 years ago and I knew then what a genuine and caring person she was. After we graduated high school she told me she wanted to be a teacher. I knew when she told me that the teaching world was about to gain a very wonderful teacher. She cares for her each and every one of her students as if they were her own. There is not one other person that is more deserving of this award then Mrs.Deeds.

Mrs. Deeds is just one of the best. I am 20 and had Mrs. Deeds over 10 years ago in school and we are still in contact. She always has the biggest smile on her face and instantly makes you feel loved and safe. She coined a nickname for my childhood best friend and I and we still go by “Bella Squared”

I could not have said it better myself! She’s everybody’s favorite teacher (including my kids) because of her positive energy and caring personality. Don't tell the students but the teachers all agree with her! Ask anybody at the school and they will tell you, “Anne is a fantastic educator”. She also spends extra time and effort on events such as Career Day. Mrs.Deeds deserves to be rewarded for what she stands for as a gigantic force in so many people’s lives.

Jack is in Fifth grade and about to leave PHES. We have SO many cherished memories and so many people who have made an impact on Jack's life at PHES. Mrs. Deeds is one of them. Anne Deeds is truly a life changer in deed (no pun intended). Although I’m not qualified for her current student demographic, she is still very much my teacher. She teaches me to be my authentic self and reassures me that anything I may THINK I’m afraid of, I’m destined to conquer. I had Mrs Deeds as my 2nd grade teacher. She encouraged me to read more, and that led me to more reading counts points. I had the pleasure of working with Anne Deeds in third grade for four years, before I retired. She's hard-working, dedicated to her students' growth--both in education and well-being. Once she has a child in her classroom, that child is hers forever! I've seen her "tackled" in a bear hug from a precious student in a store parking lot--all six feet of him! Anne Deeds is caring and giving with everyone; she's a big time team player. She's an excellent mentor/master teacher, who is always learning new skills to improve the classroom experience for her students. My daughter had Mrsn Deeds last year for virtual learning/2nd grade. We could not have done it without such a fantastic, upbeat & positive teacher leading the class. Mrs. Deeds is an AMAZING educator! You can tell that she loves all her kids and they are her children forever from that point on. You can't even have a conversation with her in a hallway without a dozen students stopping to say hi or get a hug. She is a superstar and we are so lucky to have her at our school.
