Mrs. Perez's impact on her students' lives is immeasurable. Lowell Middle School is an inner city school that has a 100% economically disadvantaged rate. The needs at this school are extreme, and Mrs. Perez is completely committed, not only to her students, but to her community, as well. She goes beyond the academics. She has supported the community by making numerous home visits and delivering much-needed resources to families. Mrs. Perez takes clothes to students and has worked closely with the local food bank to help feed the neediest in her community.
Mrs. Perez was recently promoted to an instructional coach position. In this role, she helps teachers to improve their craft and Tier 1 instructional practices. She has not only garnered the trust of her school's staff, but the central office staff.
