Kati Pignatello was nominated by her colleague, Katie Grauer.

Ms. Pignatello plays a huge role at the Willamette Career Academy (WCA). She takes her role seriously, and she has gone above and beyond. The WCA is a new program to the district, and it's Ms. Pignatello's first year of being in a school. She has made the program feel welcoming to all who visit or attend. She takes time to talk with students who come into the office with questions or requests for help.

Ms. Pignatello builds positive relationships with all students from all backgrounds. When parents and industry partners visit, she makes them feel at home and provides any information she can to them. Since the program provides opportunities for students from all walks of life (no matter their situation), Ms. Pignatello makes sure to treat all students in an equal, professional manner. She has taken the lead with COVID testing, as this has been a need for the building.

"I have come to truly appreciate all that Kati does for WCA. She was out one week due to illness, and the staff realized just how much they depend on her for daily tasks. It has been a joy to watch Kati grow as a professional in her role. I look forward to seeing what she does next as we start phase two of our program, which will bring even more students, families, and partners from the community," said Grauer.
