LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Robyn McIntosh was nominated by one of her colleagues.

You can hear Ms. McIntosh's boisterous voice echo from across the school grounds!  Her cheerful laughter and bright smile is extremely contagious.  Her ability to speed walk in high heels from one point to the other leaves you second-guessing about where you last saw her.  Most importantly, you can feel her positive energy and willingness to help everywhere you go.

"Ms. McIntosh is a huge asset to Kapunahala Elementary School.  She wears many hats and contributes a lot of her time and energy to the school, staff, and students.  She is currently the school's Vice Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, Test Coordinator, and Academic Coach.  How one woman can have the capacity to do the job of four people is beyond me," said her colleague.

As Vice Principal, Ms. McIntosh assists the Principal with many administrative duties, which keeps the school running smoothly each and every day. She strives to sustain a school culture that promotes student learning and professional growth for staff members. With the pandemic still lingering, some of her duties also includes morning temperature checks for all students and afternoon traffic control.

Her tasks as a Curriculum Coordinator and Academic Coach include coordinating school-wide curriculum resources and providing support for teachers on curriculum design and implementation.  She facilitates Data Team meetings to ensure that teachers are receiving the support they need. During these meetings, Ms. McIntosh provides teachers with instructional strategies to set them up for success in the classroom.  She also supports administration with the implementation of the Academic Plan and school-wide goals.

On top of being the Vice Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, and Academic Coach, Ms. McIntosh is also the school's Test Coordinator. That means she coordinates the administration of state and school-level assessments.  She also collects and analyzes state and school-level assessment data while monitoring student progress, all at the same time.

"Among many of the staff members at Kapunahala Elementary School, Ms. McIntosh goes above and beyond, not only to make sure our students receive the education they need to be successful, but to make our staff feel supported.  She has a heart of gold and sees the positive in everyone and everything.  She is a strong, passionate, and encouraging woman!  Ms. McIntosh puts 300% into everything she does and is definitely a LifeChanger to all of our Kapunahala community," said her colleague.
