Zujai Gallegos was nominated by her colleague, Jose Mata.
Mrs. Gallegos is the epitome of the overachieving teacher. She began her career in education as a special education teacher, where she developed the attitude that every one of her students was more like her own child. Then, Mrs. Gallegos became an ELAR/RLA teacher. She was charged with helping English Language Learners grow and succeed in developing their English language skills. Her annual test scores reflect her great ability for directing her students' academic success.
Mrs. Gallegos received the honor of being selected as Teacher of the Year by a resounding majority. Her appointment as RLA Chairperson, along with her involvement on many of the school's crucial committees that foster student success, are a small reflection on how valuable she is for her students and the entire campus.
"Mrs. Gallegos' character, personality, and morals are the gold standard of what every teacher should strive to reach," said Mata.
