Pete Moore was nominated by an anonymous member of the community.
"He makes amazing connections with his students and encourages them to feel comfortable being themselves," said his nominator.
I graduated in 2001 and 21 years later I still remember Mr. Moore as a standout teacher! He took the time to get to know each student and make them feel seen, heard and valued. I still have the poem he wrote to our entire class at the end of the year- He wrote something positive and encouraging for each and every student. In my years since I have never had a teacher quite like him. Congratulations Mr. Moore!
Mr.Moore lifts his students up by taking time to first shine a light on what students did well and then offering positive feedback on how to improve. His students respect him so much because he listens to them, offers support, encourages and has an amazing way of bringing unity to any group he works with!
Congratulations, Mr. Moore, on your nomination for the Life Changer of the Year Award. The impact you have had on your students will follow them as they make their path in the future. Your dedication, direction & example will follow those students, who have had the opportunity to learn & develop under your care & guidance.
Congratulations! Well-deserved!
Pete has been a wonderful staff member that really does a fantastic job with his students. Their performances have been spectacular! He is the most friendly and genuine person on the High School Staff. Kings is very lucky to have him!
Pete Moore is a fabulous teacher and colleague— we are so lucky to have him at Kings High School teaching speech, mythology, and theatre arts! Mr. Moore is also our Director for plays, and his acting experience combined with his ability to connect and draw out students’ talents makes for fabulous performances right on our own high school stage!
I am a 2006 Kings High School alumni and consider Mr. Moore a huge positive influence on my school experience and development as a teen. Mr. Moore had a way of making any subject he taught interesting and fun. Beyond that, he helped me feel valued and supported. I was very shy and as a drama instructor, he really helped me come out of my shell and find community in the theater program. This made a lasting effect on me that I carry into my life and career. He is a wonderful teacher that goes above and beyond for his students!
My daughter is 33 years old. Pete is still one of the people in her life who stands out as a positive influence for her. Her eyes light up whenever she hears about him. I have always admired the way he cares for his students.
I am so glad Pete has been nominated for this award! Pete has taught 3 of my sons who would tell you that his class was definitely one of their favorites. Pete values others and what makes them unique.
You’ve certainly changed my life. Watching you change the lives of everyone you meet has been one of life’s biggest joys.
I appreciate all Pete does for our students and community. We've very to luck to have him at Kings.
Pete is amazing with his students and has been a driving force in the growth of the theatre program at kings! Bravo sir!
Mr. Moore goes above and beyond for us. He’s made learning fun, his classroom is a welcoming environment, and it’s easy to go to him for advice and support. He makes students feel welcome, accepted and understood. It is so appreciated.
My son absolutely loves his classes with Mr. Moore. He feels supported and valued. He is an excellent educator and one of Kings High School's finest.
