Tracy Oflynn was nominated by her daughter, Katelyn Casey.
"My mom, Tracy Oflynn, has to be one of the best and most committed teachers I know. She has been at this for 25 years. She has gone through many different grades, and this year is her first year teaching kindergarten. So many lives are being impacted by her presence. The children like coming to school and engaging in the activities that take place during the school day. She makes the children's days better. So many of my own friends remember her and thank her for her guidance for when they were in her class," said Casey.
Tracy’s commitment to her students is a remarkable commitment. I had the honor of substituting while she was out for a time. Tracy had a binder with daily- hour to hour- lesson plans for every day. Her guide was so exact, with tips and notes included. She noted which children would need extra, which children would be excited or bored and how to react to any distractions. She’s a dedicated educator with a remarkable compassion for all the students within Lizana elementary.
I have had the pleasure of working with Tracy side by side. It is true she has taught different grade levels which is a challenge. Despite the challenge, Tracy always transition smoothly. She makes it look simple even though it is not an easy task. As a colleague, I can say she is very accepting of change and working side by side with other professionals who work within her classroom. She is very welcoming of children with disabilities and does everything she can to coteach with support faculty and staff. She creates a learning environment that is very warm and creative for both children and colleagues. Despite all the challenges that come along with teaching, Tracy keeps a smile on her face and delivers a very warm demeanor for all who are around her.
Such a great award for a very deserving teacher. Tracy O’Flynn gives her all for her students and puts them first. She gives the students confidence that they can learn even when the struggle is difficult. She doesn’t let them give up. She will try a different approach if the present one is not working. Thank you for all the lives you enrich.
She’s s great teacher. She’s plans and works to have engaging activities with her students. The students are very lucky to have someone so dedicated to improving the lives of a child!
Mrs. Oflynn is my daughter’s kindergarten teacher this year and we couldn’t be more thankful for her. My daughter has learned so much and LOVES going to school and is so excited to tell us each day what she did in class. The amount of progress my daughter has made from the beginning of the school year until now is unbelievable. We are truly grateful for such an amazing teacher and person for our daughters first year in school. She goes above and beyond for these kids and treats them like one of her own. She has definitely set a firm foundation for our daughter to excel in the grades to come!
Tracy has been an outstanding teacher her whole life. She has always put her students first and truly understands how to reach out to her students and provide them with the knowledge and confidence to help them succeed. She truly understands what it takes to be a teacher and how to succeed with her students. She never backs down from a challenge only to overcome it and use it to benefit her students. She has taught several different grade levels and the students benefit greatly from her passion and strength as a educator. I would have been honored to have her teach my son if she had been given the opportunity. If all teachers carried the same passion and concern as much as she does, the success rate of our children would be no issue at all. Thank you Tracy for your sacrifice and hard work for all.
Very happy to see this! She is definitely one of those teachers who is genuine and truly cares about teaching and her reward is seeing the students participate and learn something new each day. She is one of the best! Lizana Elementary has had a few that everyone will always remember and love she is part of that group to me. I would even say she is old school she is there to teach and can not wait to see what they do and who they will be become.
Tracy O’Flynn has changed many different lives. She changed her own life when she made a very difficult decision and courageously followed through with it. Her daughters’ lives were changed when she showed them through example of how strong a woman can be. Through her teaching and coaching she made many young people stronger, more independent and more productive.
