Music that Describes Kayla

Kayla Brown was nominated by her spouse, Brian Felton.

Mrs. Brown is a great role model and leader, both in and outside of the classroom! She goes out of her way to make lasting relationships with every student she teaches each year. She strives to be the best teacher that she can be so that her students can grow into the best versions of themselves. Mrs. Brown not only does a great job with helping students, but with helping other teachers succeed in their classroom, as well. She brings an overwhelming, contagious joy to teaching that makes others strive to do better, both in and outside of the classroom. Her passion for building students up is unrivaled. She goes above and beyond the educational requirements for teaching ELA to her students. With COVID being a issue in most schools, she never missed a beat. She took it on as a new challenge and even worked on finishing her Master's degree in reading literacy. She continues to thrive whenever a new obstacle has been thrown at her.

"She is a wonderful teacher and is very deserving of this award," said Felton.

Kayla has always wanted to be a teacher even as a small child. She always wanted to be able to bring out the best in all her students. She has the ability to turn on the light bulb of learning for students regardless of what level they are in school.

I agree with all that was said in the above statement. Ms. Brown is exceptional at all things especially when it comes to children and education. I encourage you to choose her for leader of the year.
