Ms. VanZyl is a long time SCPS employee who has shifted from teaching, to working administration, to heading back to the classroom. She excels at everything she does, but teaching 7th grade civics is her speciality. She goes above and beyond each and every day. Ms. VanZyl's dedication and passion are contagious to everyone around her.

Hello! Mrs. Van Zyl is a wonderful teacher, and keeps us happy! She has great humor, and makes education fun! I hope she keeps her positive attitude and stays happy! She always makes us kahoots, quizizzes, and fun work, such as label and color maps, like little puzzles! I hope she continues teaching her way, and impact many more!

Mrs. van zyl is a great teacher! She is my 7th period world history teacher and she is absolutely amazing! She incorporates fun with learning and is always here to listen if you need her! Mrs.VanZyl is one of the best teacher I've ever had and here are some reasons she should win. First of all, every day when I walk into her classroom she is always spreading joy and happiness to each and every student, even if he or she is not the kindest. She is also very entertaining. She finds fun ways for us to learn, like Kahoot's, quizzz's, and playing games. The first day of school I was so nervous for History because it was the subject I disliked the most. But as soon as I saw Mrs.VanZyl with her sweet smile greeting me into the classroom, I knew that she would be my favorite teacher (and still is) and that this would be a very fun class. In fact, history is now my new favorite subject of the day, and my favorite part. And I just want to say thank you. Thank you so much Mrs.VanZyl for being the best teacher I've ever had. She bought me notebooks when she didn't have too! Mrs.Vanzyl always make sure we're having fun and when we are upset she always make us smile!
