Jenny Dabalos was nominated by one of her students.

"Mrs. Dabalos was a new teacher to Waiakea High School last year," said the student. "To make it more difficult on her, we were learning online. She tried her best to teach the class and make sure we understood the lessons. She made sure if we ever needed help, we could email her and she would get back to us as soon as possible. This year is another challenge for her since we switched to in-person learning. During class, she always makes sure we are using our time wisely, and that we aren't just on our phones. She tries to make learning fun by having an ice breaker. At the end of the day, she wants us to be successful once we graduate high school. This shows students that even though you are not put in the perfect position, you need to make things work."
