"'You guys are basically like my second family,' Mrs. Arasato told us over the camera as we studied trigonometric identities. I did not think a teacher, miles away from my home, could possibly tell me that without seeing my face or understanding what I had gone through, but she found some way to connect in a chaotic age. I felt that I developed my math skills and learned more in Mrs. Arasato's class than any other class. She pushed me to change my way of thinking about school, my grades, and mathematics in general," said the student.
