Caitlyn Taylor was nominated by an anonymous colleague.
"I have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Caitlyn Taylor on and off for almost 10 years," explains her colleague. "Caity is a very talented individual who pushes her students to do and be their best every single day. She created a dance group from scratch and pushed to be able to make their dreams come true by raising the funds for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York City to study with the New York City ballet. She has a drive and passion for students that's unparalleled, including the special education student who is so far behind on credits that they believe they'll never graduate."
Ms. Taylor has a knack for meeting a student where they are, and she pushes and steers them in the direction that they need to go. There aren't many educators who can truly say that they meet the individual needs of every single kid, every single day, in every single one of their classes. Ms. Taylor can, and it's like magic to watch.
"I have never seen students respond to an adult like they do to her," said the colleague. "They know that no matter what, she has their back and will fight with everything she has for whatever it is that they need to be successful, both in and outside of the classroom."
Ms. Taylor pours her heart out into each and every student that she comes into contact with. She always goes above and beyond seeking her students best interests. I admire her greatly and look to her as an example to follow.
Ms. Taylor is a bright shining star on our campus. Her love for students and passion to see them flourish and thrive is inspiring. Caitlyn goes above and beyond to reach her students and to teach her students. Every person who comes into contact with Ms. Taylor is blessed. Thank you Ms. Taylor for all you are and all you do!

Mrs. Taylor is a wonderful teacher she helps a lot with everything in the school she is always willing to stop what she's doing to help a student out. She is one of the most dedicated teachers to ever teach in my opinion.
Mrs. Taylor is such an amazing teacher and helps students get to where they need to be and learn in a way that works best for them. She goes above and beyond for me and all the other students daily. She loves dance, you can see it in her face and loves to share her passion with her students. I would not be where I am today without Mrs. Taylor. Caitlyn Taylor was the first teacher to make me feel welcome when i had switched schools. She is one of my favorite teacher's, and she cares a lot about her students and helps them the best she can. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher.
Ms. Taylor was very helpful when I got transferred to NH and she helped me with any questions I had so that's why I think she deserves this award.

I had the pleasure of working with Caity for a year at Tascosa. She was always willing to go above and beyond for any students or staff members who needed her. Students want to come to her class as much as possible and always left with a little more love then they entered with! Her passion and energy is contagious to all of those around her, and she has touched a countless number of lives.

I met Caity this school year as a first year teacher. Teaching for the first time can be scary and intimidating all at the same time. Caity has helped me tremendously throughout this school year. She has been a great person to watch and learn from. She has always been there with the many questions I always have. She has always had a great relationship with students and goes above and beyond for each and every one of them. Not only has she helped me build my confidence as a teacher, she helps each student see their true potential each and every day. Caity is a great teacher and the world of education can only benefit from having a person like her in our realm.
Mrs. Taylor goes above and beyond for her students. She is constantly thinking of ways to help her students in any way possible. She creates special bonds with students and is always very open minded to any situation that comes her way. She is defiantly an asset to our school.

I have known Caity for many years. I have seen her do amazing things for her students and peers inside and outside of the classroom. Just recently she held a garage sale of her own items and other clothes donations to help provide Thanksgiving meals and Christmas for students and their families in need. She organized and orchestrated Saturday learning for ESSER hours for, not only her students, but other students whose schedules didn’t work for after school. I have also watched her use her community connections to help students get jobs, internships, and a higher education. I can speak from experience and also as a person who has received her kindness, that just by knowing her, she changes lives.
I met Caity when she was eleven years old. Her older sister, Christyn brought her into my drafting classroom after school where students were working on state contest projects.
Her sister had warned me she was very energetic, full of energy and promised me she would not be a problem if she could bring her with her to the after school work night.
Caity had an amazing curiosity about everything we did in the program - especially photography. Well, after a short lesson on composition, rule of thirds and camera controls she was out the door on a mission. (Whew!)
A while later she returned with the digital camera anxious to show me her photos. She had taken some really impressive pictures around the Caprock HS campus. She had my attention! To top it off before she left, she said , “I wrote you a poem. It’s titled “A Photo”. It was from the heart and very professionally insightful for an eleven year old! I still have it after 20 years.
Long story short, four years later Caity started taking my class for four years. She was a tornado of inspiration and leadership. She attended four State Competitions and was the President of our student club- “C-Tech” her senior year. She helped us bring home a 1st place State trophy that year. I am one blessed teacher to have had her share her life during the last twenty years.
she deserves this more than anyone I can think of. she is the best teacher I've had she did everything she could to get me where I am today if it wasn't for her I don't know if I would stay in school but because was there to listen to my problems and help me through everything I'm still here pushing myself to be the best i can be.
Caity could not deserve this more. She not only is an amazing teacher, but she is also an advocate, cheerleader, sounding board, kick you in the butt if you need it, hard-loving colleague and friend. If you are someone in need of anything and Caity finds out about it, she will help (not in any way she can but) in every way she can. Students flock to her for support and help and so do many of her peers. She is the very definition of a great teacher with a heart for any kid that walks through her door.
100% deserved. I have never met a person who is more loving and more willing to help kids out than Caity. Kids that others have thrown aside or didn’t want to give them the time they truly needed, Caity doesn’t hesitate

Mrs. Taylor is the best teacher that I have ever had. she takes time to help me learn so that I can udnerstand what is actually being taught to me. she had gave up her saturdays to help me for STAAR. there are many times that even when i didn't know I needed help she was there for me ready to help me. i know that when i look back about my life that she will be the person that influenced me and changed my life the most for the better.
Caity is the one of the best teachers I've had the pleasure of working with. Coming in as a new teacher, she was and continues to be a supportive colleague I know I can count on to lead me in the best direction with whatever issue I have. She is extremely knowledgeable, kind, giving, dedicated, and so many other positive things. I have a lot of respect for her and only can hope I can reach her level of tenacity one day.

Caity is one of the reasons I chose to continue to pursue my certification in education. The things that I have seen her do for her students and the way they respond to her something to be seen. I have heard that if you significantly change the life of one student throughout your career you have done your job, but I have seen her change the lives of not only her students but her peers as well. This honor is well deserved!
Caity has been a great friend and mentor. I am currently studying to go into Special Education, and Caity has been a pivotal part of that. I have had the honor to work with her and the work she does not only with her Gen Ed students, but her special pops students and the gains she makes with them, is something I have never seen. When it comes to teaching and inspiring students, she truly has a gift.
I have had the pleasure to know Caity in both a personal and professional capacity. At every change and corner, including during COVID, Caity was an innovator and did all she could to help her a students. She understands that students basic needs must be met before she can attempt to lay out course work for them. She constantly creates and keeps strong connections with her kids and they look to her not only as a teacher, but for guidance and as their mentor.

Mrs. Taylor is a high energy teacher who does all she can to help her students succeed. She thinks out of the box and goes above and beyond what is expected for her students. Ive had many teachers in school, Ms. Taylor has by far been the teacher who has helped me throughout these last past 3 years ive known her then most my teachers. She has helped me succeed academically by explaining beyond the basics. She will actully sit there with you and push you to strive to be the best you, you can be; She has always believed in me even when i thought i couldnt she helped me pick up my anchors and get to my goals. Ms. Taylor is also amazing at helping people (me), in real world real hurt, outside of school issues. Shell be there to talk and to listen, not just listen, but shell hear you & will give you good advice even when you dont want to hear it, i dont know once she pits her faith and strength in you it just boost you to getting to your goals.
I have known Caity as a student and a teacher on two different campuses. While in high school she was always working toward what she has became today. A advocate for anyone that she feels needs help no matter what their situation. She goes above and beyond to provide a safe, caring, professional, passionate teacher. She will not give up on a student, she has a no quite attitude when it comes to working and providing lessons for all her students so that they can see and feel the results, which intern motivates them toward their goal of walking a stage for graduation. If a student needs anything she figures out a way for them to get assistants even outside of her classroom. Her goal and purpose is to ensure that she is there to make a difference in each and every student that crosses her path, even if it is just in the hallway walking by her room. She is a amazing teacher and young lady who works to make a difference in students lives. She is very deserving of this award.

I have seen the amazing things that my wife has done for her students and her campus first hand. She truly has a love and passion not just for her student’s education, but their overall well-being and futures. She constantly finds new ways to teach and teach her students. She has worked multiple jobs and extra hours to help the kids that without her, wouldn’t have anything or anyone. She has used our own money to furnish her room, provide meals during the school year, at Thanksgiving, and Christmas, as well as Christmas gifts so as she says, “my kids need to still have a chance to experience kindness and joy. They have already been through so much, possibly more than we ever have or will in our entire lives.” She has also used her own money to buy books both hard copy and audio to meet the needs of her students, clothing for her students and in some cases, her student’s kids as well. There are so many things that my wife has done that I possibly can’t name and mention them all, but if this award is about changing lives, my wife does that everyday.
Caity is a very nice teacher. She is always kind and has a smile on her face when I see her. She is willing to help out wherever she is needed and she gets things done. She is a very hard worker and touches many lives every year. I think she is award would fit her perfectly.
In my 36 years of leadership, I have always believed that my role was to hire quality people with a passion to work with students, not positions and certificates. Having the opportunity to add such a student advocate to my team was easy. Caity continues to work tirelessly day in and day out to provide for all students. She gets that most days academic needs are not the priority. When we accept students, we accept them and all of their needs. As an alternative education teacher, Caity embraces the role of counselor, social worker, parent, advisor, cheerleader, and educator. She is my colleague and my mentor. I have learned more from working with her than I could ever give back. She reminds us why we have chosen such a demanding profession and the wonderful outcomes that await all of our students. I am so proud of her many accomplishments and recognitions. She has been a life-changer for our students, our staff, and me. Congrats Caity.

My name is Selena and im 17 years old. Being a teen can be hard but miss taylors never failed to be here for me and make me laugh, and be comfortable. i love being able to go to her class and know that i can be who i am and she wont judge me at all. She works her butt off for her students and she deserves to get something back for that!

Mrs.Taylor is a wonderful teacher who not only fights for her students to get what they need but she also takes an active role in their education and lives. When we have trouble with an assignment she puts the answer in a way we can understand so we can do better. when i first came to north heights my old school messed my stuff up Mrs.Taylor rewrote the entire thing so i could start doing better in school. and she wants us to do great and we do Mrs.Taylor is an Awesome teacher.

Ms. Caity came into our lives several years ago when she started teaching my daughter dance. She would always do what was best for her students and be there for them anytime they needed them. As the years went on Ms. Caity became a member of our family. She watched both of my kids grow up and came to their events during high school. She even checks in on my oldest while he is at college. She means so much to so many, especially to us!! We love her very much!

Mrs.Caity I have known Caity sence I started dance at 4 years old she has a great personality and is very kind when I think of Mrs.Caity I think of her as very kind generous and also has heartfelt person. When I was growing up and I did dance with her she always pushed me to do my best which is how I got here today so thank you Caity for being in my life.
I have known Caity for four years. In that time, I have known her to be a diligent advocate for students' rights. She inherently knows when a student needs assistance, whether it's an eye exam appointment and needed glasses or help with an assignment.
Caity always has the students' best interests in mind. She will encourage and instruct students in the finer points of writing an essay and understanding and analyzing literature on a deeper level.
She is a natural at helping students conquer their fears and insecurities. She knows how to meet students on their level and will develop materials giving them the confidence to be successful on the English End of Course exam.
