Amy Carrier was nominated by one of her students.
Mrs. Carrier works every day to give students a chance to recover the credits that they have not successfully earned in regular courses. She works with each student to create an individual path to get them to the point where they can pass the course and get on track to graduate. Not only does she do that, but she cares about all of her students. She makes sure they feel safe and welcome in her space and holds them to high expectations. She doesn't allow them to make excuses.
"With her, I know that she will not allow me to settle for less than my best," said her nominator.
In her classroom, she makes time to meet with each student and keep them on pace to meet the requirements of the course so they can get credit, but she does so much more than that. She works with students in a way that shows she'll be there for them when they struggle. She has a way to pushing students to do their best so they can get the work done.
"I have seen her work with many of my fellow classmates, and I know that she treats them with respect and honors them, no matter the past choices we've made that put us in her credit recovery class," said the student. "She works to help us keep a positive attitude, and she encourages us to be the best we can be, not only in her class, but in all of our other classes. She expects us to be students with school pride. I have seen her help other teachers, by helping them navigate the system we use for credit recovery. She is a leader for other teachers to follow in the way that she creates relationships with students. She deserves the best recognition and gift possible."
There isn't many teachers who take the time to get to know each an everyone of there students but Mrs Carrier did . I was one of her students in her 5th an 6th grade class at waynesburg elementary in 2003 .. she loved us all and always had a way with us .. I feel she deserves this reward of life changer of the year because she always finds time with each an everyone of her students to make sure they understand.. but I guarantee by the end of a school year not only did you learn what she taught but she made you feel comfortable because she never treated you any different then any of the others .. she always had enough love an wisdom for everyone ..
Amy is a great person loves all kids does her best to help anyone. shes done so much for my child and been a light to so many others young or old and so deserving of this honor!
Mrs. Carrier is been an amazing influence in the daily life of many students including myself! As a 2020 graduate I had a great influencer and teacher in Mrs. Carrier to pursue my academic dreams! She is one of the main reasons for that! Not to mention she also taught my younger brothers! She has made a great impact on the students in Lincoln County.

Coming from a graduate of 2020, she strived every day to tend to students personal goals and academic journey. The way she welcomes any & everyone no matter where they came from was so calming to most every student who had her. She deserves this award! I couldn’t think of a better nominee! I couldn’t have graduated without her help!

Mrs. Carrier is so deserving of this award. She speaks uplifting words to and over her students which is life changing!! I know of a situation where my child was going through a major trial in her life and Mrs. Carrier reached out to her and encouraged her many times. Congratulations for being nominated for this award and I pray you are blessed enough to receive it!

Mrs. Amy Carrier is such a positive, uplifting person. She has worked with my son at the Lincoln County High School for a few years now and is always so helpful and encouraging of him. She has emailed on a couple occasions praising my son for his achievements and his character. As a parent, it is such a blessing knowing that she is always looking out for him and helping guide him along his journey. Mrs. Amy will definitely be a well-deserved recipient of this recognition.

Mrs. Carrier is one in a million and does what is best for all of her students. I am lucky to call her a colleague, blessed even more to call her a dear friend.
Amy has deserved this recognition for years and years. It is nice to know that someone has taken steps to give her credit for the amazing inspiration she is to our students and staff. We need more people like her in our lives.

Amy gives 200% of herself to her colleagues and kiddos every day! She is kind, considerate and an ambassador of knowing that even the smallest gesture to support staff and students makes the biggest difference!
