LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Erin Parker was nominated by one of her colleagues.

Dr. Parker is the school librarian, but she does so much more!  Dr. Parker creates a class full of excitement where students are 100% engaged in what they are learning. She not only fosters a love for reading by reading books to students and helping them check out books, but she teaches STEM in the library. Dr. Parker teaches her students to code. You will see robots in her library, along with the most amazing science experiments. Students keep an experiment log and make predictions based on the information she has taught them.  

Not only does Dr. Parker create a fun classroom, but she sponsors the student council.  Her student council creates a weekly news broadcast to show to all of the students at school.  The student council recently donated candy to a "trunk or treat." She also has two book clubs for students at her school.  

"Dr. Parker is a leader in our school, too.  She has helped decorate our hallways and plan AR parties.  When staff were out at the beginning of the year, Dr. Parker stepped into classrooms to help run centers," said her colleague. "We are so thankful to have Dr. Parker on the Beach Elementary team!"
