I have known Diane for 38 years. She was my first PE coach when I first moved to San Antonio from Indianapolis. Diane has a heart of gold. She is always in a great mood, has tons of positive energy and always makes everything fun! We have kids the same age now and we are super great friends! What an amazing mom, teacher, & friend. She completely deserves this award and then some! Thank God for this woman. She has friends everywhere she goes and always makes time for you. ??

Diane has been extremely instrumental in my life. I’m 53 and 41 years ago I met Diane Miller Blackwood in her first years as a coach in Middle School. I came from an abusive mother who’d consistently leave me at school after games and practices. Diane always made my life and days easier. She cared hard, loved easy and really made me work harder, smarter and reach for my goals. I always look back on this days and remind myself how amazing a great educator can one day be a great friend. Diane has been a part of my life all these years. Diane I am sure has changed a lot of little lives along the way in her career, but I’m forever thankful for her kindness, Caring, living friendship as a coach and now a friend.
