Cindy Duncan was nominated by a colleague, Terry Marshall.

"Nurse Duncan spent the summer at Monaview Elementary School helping us with summer school, on top of filling in at other schools and working at her home school," Marshall said. "In a tough summer coming on the tail end of a challenging year, Monaview had no nurse to call our own. Nurse Duncan came in and made us her own without missing a beat. She knew all COVID-related questions/answers and was able to look up the most current information very quickly. Nurse Duncan is very thorough!"

Nurse Duncan came in with a glorious attitude and refreshing disposition. The children were all very comfortable with Nurse Duncan, even when they had to take their medications! She learned who the children were, what they had to have, and when they needed to have it, and it didn’t take long. The team at Monaview thoroughly enjoyed having Nurse Duncan.

"None of us were concerned, nor did we need to follow up or follow through on any tasks or itinerary. It was just understood that this lady has it going on and would take care of business," Marshall said. "As a newbie working for the first summer at the school, she even helped me figure out where to find things in PowerSchool and here at the school in order to take care of parents that came in. She did this without batting an eye."

The school had records galore that were behind, in addition to the new enrollment records that needed to be updated. Nurse Duncan took the initiative to get access to the records room, pull files, ask for information, etc. She not only caught up on all of last year's records, but inputed all of the enrollments to date. She never stopped moving, inputting, or helping to answer questions.

"Nurse Duncan really was a godsend," said Marshall. "I enjoyed working with Nurse Duncan very much! I love her personality, laugh, work ethic, knowledge, dependability, teamwork, and rapport with everyone. She can work with ease with all and is clearly very flexible...I genuinely miss her!"
