Patricia Randinelli was nominated by her colleague, Carmen Sheppard.
"Nurse Patty is a difference maker! She is an essential member of our school community. She makes a difference for all students, staff, and community members. The teachers, staff, students, and parents all depend on her. Nurse Patty has touched the lives of every single person in this building and in our school community," said Sheppard."
When Ms. Randinelli treats students, she has such a compassionate and gentle way about her. She makes it a point to bond with the kids; it’s amazing how well she knows each student. She knows their likes and dislikes, and she knows about their families. Most importantly, the students know she cares about them. The parents also know she cares, and they hang on to every piece of advice that she gives.
Ms. Randinelli goes above and beyond in terms of making sure students have whatever they need, such as glasses, medications, and medical attention. This year, she has partnered with a business to provide free eye exams and free glasses for all students. What a gift! She also reaches out to the physicians to ensure that students are getting the follow-up treatments that are needed. In addition, Ms. Randinelli has partnered with a local church that provides school uniforms all year long. The church also provides gifts for each student every Christmas season. These partnerships are amazing! She continues these relationships to benefit students and their families.
Ms. Randinelli is always promoting a healthy lifestyle with the students and staff. She ensures the staff knows the importance of everything from mammograms to flu shots. She also promotes "Wellness Wednesdays," when staff are treated with healthy snacks, ideas, or activities to contribute to healthy living. Ms. Randinelli is so knowledgeable and helpful that students and staff constantly seek her out during the day. Some kids may even fake an injury just to get a little tender, loving care from her.
Ms. Randinelli is such a helpful, positive person, and she truly wears more than just a nursing hat. She is a counselor, healthcare provider, tear dryer, confidant, detective, nutritionist, and event planner.
"She is the glue that holds this school together, and we could not do it without her! It is my pleasure to nominate such a deserving representative," said Sheppard. "She truly is a LifeChanger!"
