Chris Lopez is a definite believer in teaching his students to become strong individuals and to always believe in themselves. Strength is not only physical but also to have a healthy mind and soul, so the teaching Chris portrays is to be kind, respectful and to love yourself.
Chris-
What a huge accomplishment! We are not one bit surprised that you were nominated! You show your students about real life, whether it be successes or failures and you provide them a safe space to achieve those successes and learn from their failures! Keep being YOU, you are making a difference! You have found your calling!! Congratulations!
I can’t think of another teacher/coach, who deserves this more. Mr. Lopez has a way with the kids to kindly yet effectively teach them how to be good people in the world, as well as good students and athletes. Teenagers are HARD, but he sets his expectations and kids/teenagers appreciate and respect that. That’s how they learn and grow into becoming an adult. His heart is always in the right place.
