Ocean is one of the most dedicated amazing teacher that I know. Always going above and beyond for every single student she has in her classroom. You will normally find her coming in early and staying in late well past contracted hours. After school many students don’t have a place to come and stay between after school activities so Ocean opened up her classroom for those students to come. She not only preps for the next day during this time, but also helps the students if they need help on home work. This lead her to now become a tutor to help more student succeed in school. All Ocean wants is to help the students live to their fullest potential! During the 8 yrs teaching at Crivitz she has only missed a handful of days, because the students come first! Even during the pandemic she did not miss ONE day of school and she even lost personal time because the school does not allow it to roll over to the next year. She not only wants to support the students in the classroom, but she spends her free time volunteering as an acting coach in the children’s theater, a soccer coach (even though she has never played herself), a member of the PTO, and going to her student’s ( current and former) sporting events cheering them on. I seriously do not know a more deserving teacher! Her passion drive and discipline to teaching is just inspiring!

Ocean is more than a teacher, she is an advocate for all the children she meets. Her awareness of their needs is simply amazing. We are so incredibly thankful that our daughter, Nora, had the chance to be in Ocean's class. Not only did she become Nora's "favorite", she became a forever role model and "go to" person for Nora within our school district. As a community, Crivitz is a better place to have this strong-willed, compassionate teacher who goes " the extra mile".
I’m not only a mom of 2 of her former students but I’ve also know Ocean since she was born. Ocean has always gone above and beyond for her students she gets to school early and is literally the last person to leave every day! She was one of the biggest helpers from the staff to get a new playground. She takes the time to get to know each and every student at “their” level individually. She is truly a blessing to our community. We are lucky to have such an amazing community member on our staff.
There probably is not enough space to even share all the things this lady does! Each child that passes past her or thru her classroom is never forgotten! She knows each and every one of them inside and out. She has a bubbly personality and passion for teaching. As a foster and adoptive parent with many children who have been within our school district and passed thru Oceans room, she has become a safe place for them. A supporter and cheerleader. She has become not only the kids teacher, but her and her family have become "Family". She is involved in our PTO, Theatre, Tutoring, Community Ed programs and much more! Not sure what our family would do without her!
