Lori Bellamy was nominated by her principal, Leigh Patterson.
Ms. Bellamy has made a huge impact in her school and community. She took over a CNA program that was struggling to get students involved and certified. She has grown the program and has students leaving high school with certifications and jobs lined up. Ms. Bellamy has also started teaching night classes at the College of Southern Idaho to meet the community’s needs. There is a high need for CNA positions right now, and Ms. Bellamy is doing a fantastic job helping students gain the experience and certifications it takes to be successful.
As a school nurse, Ms. Bellamy meets the needs of each and every student in the district with a smile and sense of trust that only a school nurse can provide.
"Lori is a great asset to our district. I’m grateful to work alongside her and see the impact she is making in the lives of her students," said Patterson.
In addition to being a valuable school nurse, Lori has gone the extra step to become a qualified instructor for the CNA courses at Gooding High School. She has taken her time & energy to develop this program. Now she trains new healthcare workers for our rural communities in Idaho, where there has long been a shortage of well-trained healthcare aides. Lori speaks highly of her students & is proud of the impacts they are having, as they leave their high school with this certification. They are ready to enter the workforce, & their training enables them to readily become part of a healthcare team. Lori deserves this award!
Lori deserves the highest recognition for her dedication to school children and then to teaching the CNA programs for the community college!
Lori Bellamy is a dedicated professional. She has served as the school nurse in Gooding for many years. When faced with difficult situations, she responds calmly and with compassion to ensure students are receiving excellent care. She is ray of sunshine for students, and has built trust with so many of them throughout the years. She is a team player, and has touched so many lives (students and staff) during her time in Gooding. Her kindness is displayed on a daily basis, and I am thrilled she has been nominated for this award!
Lori is a beautifully selfless woman. Our son has diabetes and she helps him learn how to handle it and works with him , not against him, every day. She is a saint! Thank you Lori!
Lori Bellamy truly helped sculpt me into the person I am today. When I was in 2nd grade she was the school nurse and was a big part in saving my life and basically forcing my mom to take me to the hospital- she saw all the warning signs of Scarlett Fever when even the doctors office told me I was fine. Years later she was also my high school CNA teacher- she pushed me to do my best to be the best I could possibly be. Now thanks to her amazing teaching I have the best job at North Canyon Medical Center. I now get to share her love for the medical field in my daily life!
Lori has a heart for others and for each of them to be better. She teaches to help each student see their own potential and builds a trust and respect with them so they can trust and respect not only her but themselves. She helps themselves to succeed. She communicates and teaches on a level that each student can understand. Lori's love and dedication for her students shows in and out of the classroom/school. If they are achieving or struggling she is with them. She is a LifeChanger!

Lori Bellamy has been at the same small town school for 21 years! She started as the part time school nurse and she has continued offering the best care for ALL students since. ? She is the best boo-boo fixer, diabetes care team, CNA teacher for the high school and local community College, and nurse career counselor. She has inspired so many students with how much she cares about her job! I know she wouldn't want to work anywhere else. Love her ? ?? ?
