Jurell Dickerson was nominated by his principal, Lisa Arseo.
Mr. Dickerson is dedicated to the success of all students. He is a key player in developing his school's positive climate. He works very closely with the staff to support struggling students. Most of the students he works with struggle with their behavior. He has an incredible ability to calm any situation. He is gentle and kind, even during those times when frustration can be quite high.
"Additionally, Jurell manages our PBIS store. He is active on the playground with supervision and student engagement. We can always count on Jurell to be our mascot for special events. Jurell is one of those employees who students will never forget. He has made, and will continue to make, a major impact on our students to ensure they are successful moving forward in their academic careers. Jurell is loved by all and is dedicated to our school's success," said Arseo.
Coach J is always there to help staff members. He is amazing with the students at BVES, He goes above and beyond for them. Thank you coach J for all that you do!
Every time I visit Bella Vista I see Coach J giving it his all with every student he works with. You can see that he has made a difference by seeing how every student's eyes light up seeing him around campus and talking to him. Saying that Coach J is a great mentor is an understatement. He is such an inspiration to many students and myself. Thank you for all you do Coach J!

I have the honor of working very closely with Jurell. Over the five years that I have been supporting him and the team of interventionists, he has demonstrated his commitment to his school staff, students, their families and his team of Behavior Paraprofessionals/ Elementary Prevention Specialists throughout the district.

Coach J is an incredible colleague and an instrumental figure in our school community. He goes above and beyond to help our students navigate the difficulties of life and schooling. He always has a positive attitude and it is contagious. He always seems to be able to calm everyone down in stressful situations, both teachers and students. I'm proud to call him a friend and colleague!
Coach J is amazing! He truly has a passion for helping students and families. What I like most of Jurell is that he interacts with the students in a friendly and professional way. It is certain that the students enjoy having him to mentor and support them!
